When explaining a concept you tell the person "boron say, it not so easy"
When you never return a faulty item at the supermarket because "products cannot be bought".
When you see a corvette drive past and you think to yourself: "thats more of an m5".

Split now give me death? Nah. Just give me your ship.

You know you've played too much X3 when:
the power goes out, and you contact the electricity company asking for another load of ecells.
you try to explain to the police that the load of weed in your car is for the Pirate Anarchy Port
you order fish at a restaurant and ask the waiter "This isn't a Boron, is it?"
you watch a plane fly over, and expect a flash of light as it "jumps" to its destination.
you start classifying cars and trucks as M1's, M2's, fighters, transports etc (I did that the other day on the bus, I was bored)
you answer your phone by saying "let us sssspeak of profit"
you're playing Eve Online, and you refer to isk (Eve Online's in-game currency) as credits

Funny, cause I was talking to a coworker who plays X but not Eve and I was outlining my future plans in the game and he asked me why I hadn't set up any weapon plexes yet.
I told him I didn't have the isk for it.
He just looked at me.

when you start hearing various game sounds when the volume is muted
when you spend hours of your spare time organising your fleets with a pen and paper, plus writing down the roles each ship plays in your fleet, including an hour debating with your brother about naming schemes while he just sits there and stares like youve grown a second head
when you have to stop yourself correcting the chemistry professor about mistaking the races for gases
when you hear the mars alert while playing goalie in soccer

(All true stories)
1. When you hear military aircraft go over and you dive into bomb shelter, strap on a helmet, grab your emergency rations and wait for the Xenon or Terraformers to rain death on your farmhouse.
2. When you worry about the trade restrictions on your bottled water.
3. When you list your best friend's cellphone number not as his name, Juilen Masse, but Julien Brennan.
4. When you go to a local airshow and expect to see the latest Rapier or Cadius' Kopesh.
5. When you spend 6 hours combing the isles at Wal-mart looking for Terran MREs.
6. When you hear about American President Lincoln freeing the slave, you think of him rolling in on a pirate base with some M7s with fighter escort.
7. When you have a button pin made that says VOTE PRESIDENT HERRON!!!
8. When you comb though Hubble Telescope images of the Solar System and other objects looking for shipyard and equipment docks.
9. When you believe the Pyramids are actually Kha'ak temples!
10. When you nearly pass out when you find names of X-Universe pilots in the phonebook.

Well. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who's gone for the 'j' key when my computer is booting up too slowly...
I've referred to Sterling as 'credits' before as well on two occasions. Awkward.
And when you look at the Moon and wonder where the Orbital Supply Base has gone. Ooops.

you will likely find that you can do more than that - I can touch type giving all kinds of commands from Trade to Dock In fact once or twice I have done it with my eyes closedDaveyP wrote:When you can "touch type" outfitting superfreighters at the EQ dock.

You know you have played too much X3 when:
1 you are able to caluculate with a pen how much of each station you need for a over 50 strong energy complex (obviously two slicon mines) - and you then have a Word document on your computer Harddrive which is titled "TC energy calculations" - and I know I need to update that document for 2.5

2 you come back to the game after months but still remember what you were doing roughly
3 when someone asks a question on the forum and another peron answers it then says not sure about the rest you fill in the missing information easially without refering to the FAQ

You see a really expensive RED car drive by and wonder if you could cap it.
Also related, an officer pulls you over and you apologize with "sorry, weapons fire in error." Said officer asks you to step out of the vehicle while slowly shifting his hand onto his sidearm.

Base on a true event;
You find yourself in a pod, (pack like saldines) with some of your better trained Marines in route to board a "Q", Once your men breach the hull they start getting fried by Hull polarization, and the sentry lazer bots start to pick out the rest of them,
fear settles in and you find yourself running for an escape hatch with what remains of your squad,
to get out of the ship, Once out in space you see the flashing and popping of The Xenon weapons as it zaps and kills your fellow Marines,
floating in space you see it coming at you, Hot plasma and all you can say is "Oh God", Then you wake up sweating and shaking.
Thats happens when you play to much and go to sleep on a failed attempt
to board a Q
