@ Technojerk36: But surely the name won't survive the RE, just as happens with the ships named as Mercenary. If you can capture and keep the original then you will have one so-named at least.

@ Nanook: Captured Mercenary ships keep their unique naming when spoken but lose them if you RE.

Remember, when you capture any ship, such as a pirate Nova, Betty changes from calling it 'Pirate Nova' to 'Your Nova'. I'm betting your 'Argon One' will become 'Your Colossus'. After all, a new 'Argon One' is already on order.
That's if it's a Nova.

It will revert from 'Pirate, Nova' to 'Player, Nova' (Your Nova)

If it's a Pirate variant, you get 'Your Pirate Nova'

Just like there were some mix ups with Xenon, meaning you could have a 'Your N' or a 'Your Xenon N'.

The Argon One has a unique description however. (Betty informs you it is a flagship, etc.) It seems to be done through scripting though, as it does not appear as a new shipclass in the encyclopaedia. So, yes, buy a Colossus and call it Argon One. And you have Argon One. :p

Well, depending on how it's scripted, if you cap it, you might just get 'One' instead of 'Argon One' :P

Are there any details on the changes for the ships? Cargo size? Speed? Graphics? What exactly changed?

What's the effect of the reduced explosion volume? In the newsletter it's listed as a "fix" but it sounds like smaller explosion volume is worse?

A change in Graphics would be very, very nice. (No reason, I just like eye candy :P)

Superfreighters etc. are now normal or 'XL'

Reduced volume is because it was way too loud.

The Superfreighter change isn't very clear

We've changed the variation name so that there are no longer 2 ships called Mercury Superfreighter, for example.

As for the Flak sound change. It was very loud before and caused some distortion on many systems.

Oh, I see so you know from the name which you're buying. Nice!

And volume as in noise level, not as in measurement of the explosion area. Got it. That sounds like a nice one too.

All in all a pretty nice bit of fixes!

Thank you Egosoft, vielen dank, game really does run better/smoother. (64bit, q6600 + 4GB RAM)

This kind of service deserves reward and I will continue to buy your products. You should sell T-shirts.

Now we just need to fix the huge lag the flak causes! :P

Oh and I think the cluster flak and whatever that other one was needs a buffin too. The flak likes to explode on the target, sending the rounds past it. It needs to explode early, sending the rounds in and around.

Will be cool, if Betty can call out the name you give to your ships, on the next patch...

:? The Yaki Orca is invincible but needs to be captured to complete the PHQ plot. So how is that going to work? TP spacewalk??
- Rebalanced ATF Ships
Exactly what does that mean? That is rather unclear.

Lastly, for those who didn't want to go to 2.6 due to the performance problem, is it safe to patch the game directly from 2.5 to 2.7, or do I need to install 2.6 first?
