[Edit] Here's his post with explanation and pics for shotgunning wasps in his example
[Edit 2]Damn. I remember the pics being very good in that post, that's why I bothered to dig it out. However, having just tried the links, they are all dead
I captured a Springblossom using this method to keep shields down, far more easy than trying to use laser fire, although I happened upon the technique myself rather than having seen this thread
IMO the usability of Missiles is rather low, because most of the missiles are just too damn slow.
Even many M3s fly at least 175m/s and can outmanouver most missiles. The ones that don't have a aft turret and using missiles against them is rarely effective.
There are exceptions, tho.
As said the Mosquito is an excelent anti-missile.
The rapier is fast enough to get those pesky Kestrels - sadly you can't buy them... and the Typhoon is what you use if your M3 is put against an M6 in patrol missions. They are glorious because they're fast and accurate. It's the only dumbfire missle, that makes any sense at all.
Also the Typhoon needs an info update, that it doesn't behave like the other swarms - it doesn't spread out in a spiral, but it delivers 8 missiles in a neat sequence one after another with an approximated half second delay.
BOOM goes the cerberus.
