Yeah, just trying to figure out what kind of time I'm aiming at.

II tried it twice and twice GOD didn't spawn enough Adv. Satellites for me on my route wasting all my effort to make it as short as possible... Pretty annoying.

wuld love to see a scoreboard after the competion my very first try i done it in 19h+ when i read this posts here i culd at first not belive that it culd be done in under 5h i had fun i have to admit that even if i lose i still will try to beat my best just to see if i culd improve on my end result

as for my end result? well wait till the scoreboard comes out or if people are willing and if its allowed maby post them here after the competion

i think i lost allready but we see as the saying goes have fun

The first X3: Terran Conflict UPLINK Competition has ended and the entries have been combed for the winner. We congratulate Flector with the winning time of 88 minutes.

Mine (since I'm pretty sure it wasn't quite the same):

1. Fly to AP, sell the Mercury.
2. Upgrade the Discover, buy a jump drive in HoL.
3. Fly to Elena's Fortune, then north to Menelaus. Grab the free Toucan.
4. Pop into Siezewell, send the Toucan to be sold.
5. Fly to Family Whi, grab the Iguana. Swap over the jumpdrive and send the Iguana for ECells and upgrades.
6. Fly to Family Pride (grabbing 10 AdvSats from a trading station along the way). Buy a Jaguar Vanguagrd and tell it to fly to Omicron Lyrae.
7. Meet the Iguana (dropping sats along the way), swap over, and buy some more AdvSats from the trading station.
8. Jump back to EF north, drop sat, nip through gate, drop sat.
9. Jump to Atreus north, drop sat, back through gate, drop sat. Rinse, repeat until caught up with Jaguar.
10. Wait for Jaguar to get in sensor range of the next gate, while hunting for sector info offers. Jump when possible, drop sat, etc. Repeat until OL.

It's remarkable to see that Carlo's gameplan was completely different from mine, and yet our times were so close.
The key points of my strategy are outlined below:

The route that I've flown was straightforward (simply the shortest one, via the pirate and xenon sectors).

I bought a second hand Discoverer Raider early in the game, which made travelling considerably faster.

A key decision was to not immediately buy satellites at Elena's Fortune, but to leave them for my 2nd ship to pickup (and backfill the earlier sectors), after I got to Aladna Hills. Whereas a lot of people had trouble in getting 17 or more satellites from Elena's Fortune and Aladna Hills, I could get all them all with this workaround.

My game was pretty much optimized. Both distance travelled and money earned (and spent) were kept as low as possible.

How did you raise your reputation to initially purchase a JD, and subsequently with the Split to buy a Jaguar Vanguard?

And how do you tell a ship to fly to Omicron Lyrae when it isn't mapped??
