Color recommendations: Try to pick colors that match the key colors of that race. Some are pretty obvious, the others have a good deal of overlap (lots of greys)so just pick a best fit. The colors, as is, have nothing to do with the races at all, there are clearly better colors to pick for them. Some ideas:
Xenon Orange for ship glow
Khaak bright purple for ship glow.
Pirate Red for pirate weapons
Yaki Red for pirate
Boron Green for ship color
Paranid purple for ship color
Teladi green for profittssss and EBC/gauss weapon
Split dark orange for ship color.
Goner Gold for ship color
Argon Dark tan for IRE series
OTAS Tan for PPC loaded Boreas and ties with Argon
Terran White for ship color.
ATF Off white for ties with Terrans
Some other things:
"Energy" is better described as "Weapon battery". it is measured in kilojoules
"Recharge" is better noted as "weapon generator". It is measured in kilowatts
You don't have the "shield generator" attribute. It is measured in kilowatts

I loosely based the color scheme from the Argonopedia, but it might be time for an update. Just a few changes to the CSS is all that's needed. Plus, I'm putting some finishing touches on the Weapons selectors, so that should make it a little more useful.
12/31/09 Update: I've implemented part of the weapon filtering function. By selecting one of the weapons in the drop-down menu, the list of ships will be filtered, showing only those ships that can mount the selected weapon, along with your other criteria. Once you've selected the weapon, the column labeled Laser will display where the weapon can mount on each ship. It should work in IE, Firefox, and Safari.

Yes it is.
According to the game the Fenrir is an M3H. I don't know what that means, but only one other ship has that designation, the Spitfyre. The Fenrir, with it's 150MJ worth of shields, 8 main guns, 2 front turret guns, and 2 back turret guns, belongs with the other M3+ ships - not forgetting it's 5M+ price tag.
The Spitfyre, OTH, is cheaper, has half the shields, and 1 less turret. So, it stays where it is, with the other M3's, and the Fenrir gets promoted to M3+.
As for the acceleration data, I opted to drop it because 1) the data is already ridiculously wide, and 2) it's probably the least important stat. But, for the sake of completeness, I might add it back in.
Kindof the same thing with the PHQ data, because that's pretty much directly related to the cost of the ship. So, a more expensive ship is always going to take longer than a less expensive ship - within the same class, IIRC.
What I'd really like to do, is allow people to build their own comparison page, by selecting which stats they'd like to compare. That'll be down the road. For now, the next major update will include ship sizes.

M3H probably stands for M3 Heavy, which is just another way of saying M3 Plus. Though that dosen;t explain the Spitfyre.
Also a couple of other things a bit of time has brought up in my ind:
1. The + Varients of M3's and M4's show up in the basic M3/M4 pages.
2. The idea of a personol comparision page is nice. Would also be nice if we could tick checkboxes next to each ship and then a tag marked "compare selected ships only. For preferance these should be persistant across filters. So we can input one set of filter options to get one ship up and select it, then another set to get another ship selected whilst losing the first from the list, and so on and so forth.
3. Of the aceleration data the Angular is the more important IMHO, and kinda vital as it's missing in game.

Yep, it's fast, but definitely not heavy. That's related to why the 'plus' ships show up when selecting just the M3 or M4 ship classes - too many times I found myself wanting to compare the standard and plus ships in the same class to each other. What would be even better is a way to tick which ship classes to compare, but I'll need to rewrite some of the filtering code.
And being able to compare two or three ships side-by-side is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, but I just haven't sat down yet to write the code. All the data is there, so it shouldn't be too hard.
And it's funny you should mention the Angular acceleration, it seems most posters don't understand what it means. But according to this thread:

So again, for completeness sake I could include it, but unless it can be quantified, i.e. given units and/or scale, it's just a number.Aragon Speed wrote:Angular acceleration controls how fast a ship will hit it's Max turning speed.

The units are pretty obvious IMHO, it's in terms of RPM per second gained.
the reason i say it';s so important is if, (as an example), you compare the Scorpion and the Mamba Raider. A great many stats are similar between them with the Mamba having several pluses, but it has junky acelleration in both categories by comparision and this severly compromises it in a dogfight.
There are several other such examples where you may wish to compare ships across categories and the acelleration could prove to be a vital value.

Thanks Zicandar! I must have been thinking in terms of X3 shields at the time. And I'm very close to including the ship sizes, very close.Zicandar wrote:A misstake I found is that the Shields are displayed as KJ and not MJ, then jumping to GJ. (This applies to the sort/filter dropdown). Else this seems to be a Great help!
Thanks alot for creating and updating it!
EDIT: Okay, ship sizes are included, and I realized that Gauss Cannons were not included for the 15 ships they are compatible with. Shame!
