it good to know that people are eagerly following the progress of this mod, it's very much appreciated! :thumb_up:

To answer your points, the new stations are being done by a guy on on the german forum which i'm in touch with, and i it will be a separate mod to this one, but in the future they may be merged and made available separatly.

I don't have too much idea as to what they are yet :gruebel: , i heard that it may include larger versions of the current trading stations, and possibly some asteroid bases,

I'm in total agreement over the EQ-docks, i would hope that in the near future, someone will create some race specific docks, hopefully they well resemble the features of the new shipyards. :D

Okay dude I have a request of you since you seem to be taking this mod to THE MAX. Better Fog. It looks terrible, and call me crazy but I feel like it's even worse in TC than it was in Reunion. I hope I am not alone in realizing this.

I dunno if you planned on messing with it at all or how many optionsare even available to you. The sprites themselves are great but the way the fog is drawn looks crazy. It's invisible until 5 feet in front of you and then it often flies right at the screen The particles need to start fading in way further out, and then fade out right before they reach the player's screen. Not to mention the fact that this fog is usually placed in a sector with a black starry background. All in all this system creates the sucessful illusion of giant magical spiderwebs smacking you in the face.

Obviously this has been bugging me for a while but yeah take a swing at it if you can. I don't ave much of an idea of how accessable that is in this engine.

I feel pretty much the same way, most of the fog is quite annoying in thre way that it's drawn, for this reason most systems do not have fog in them, (altought since using the realspce mod in mine), some of the fog's are much improved.

But as for doing anything to improve whats left.... well.. that might have to wait, i'm pretty new at this modding malarkie, so i'm still very much on the learning curve. :wink:

oh how i loved the realspace backgrounds mod in x3:reunion! i was hoping that someone would convert the mod or - as it now happened - creates a new mod which replaces the sometimes dull sector backgrounds and suns with more realistic ones.

waiting for release!!!! gogogo! :)

btw: AFAIK you changed the sized of the sectors, am I correct? Won't this affect the missions? I mean, one might run out of time because of this. Or is it not that critical?

It might, not really sure bout that, most of the main campain missions arn't time limited (i think)( I've tried not to be over generous with mission sensitive sectors). :wink:


Generally most of the sectors are around 90-130Km from gate to gate but there are a few that are upto 300Km between gates, Before i started this mod i was working on a t-ships mod for myself and that is about 75% complete, once this is finished a may tweake it and include. 8)

It might be just me, but I think that it would be a good idea to make an A and a B version of this mod:
A version, where the sectors are bigger (as you originaly planned)
B version, with the original sector sizes.
The much(!) bigger sectors minght scare of some people from downloading this mod.
At least, that's what I think- I know it would mean a bit more work, but I think it might be worth it :wink:

I'm also a bit concerned about the use of the realspace backgrounds - they got hideously distorted and corrupt sometimes when I used them in R.

Tbh i wish i'd thought of that origianally when i started, then i would have done the background changes, then done the resize! (Bugger). :roll:

Anyways, the majority of the the sectors arn't that huge, i would say that only 5-10% of the sector are over 150km between gates, and theres only about 4 or 5 sectors that are over 200km's between gates. :wink:

but if there are any issues or requests i could do something to reduce sectors down to something near to the original size, (won't be Exact tho :roll: )

So far, i havn't had any issues at all with using these backgrounds, for the whole time of creating this mod, (which is about 30hrs work so far), and playing the game with just the realspace background mod for Tc installed (8 game hours). :)

You'll need to package some sort of P2P drive with this. I can't imagine trawling through a 200km+ sector at 50m/s in any ship...it would be a killer for most people.

Gonna download it, that's 1110%, but a little adjustment to the sector sizes might make it better IMO.
Anyway, is there apossyble release date? hope it's ready soon, I only have a few days left, then back to the city and only 2h/week of TC :cry:

Sould be ready pretty soon, not much left to do, as mentioned before there isn't many sectors that are really huge :) most of the sectors area bigger, bit not that big.:wink:

However i had thought about it and i'm goin to do a ship mod that will increase the speed of all ship, plus a few little tweaks in other area's, but this will come after this mod.

It nearly there, just havin to re-do some split sectors cos for some reason they didn't save the first time round. :gruebel:

It won't be long...... :D

Once this first version is complete just gonna let you folks use it for a while then get some feedback they go on from there :wink:
