What are the odds of creating a modified version of this to pick a random + or - of 0,0,0 (non occupied space) as a destination?
This to me would be a true free-jump such as used in frontier elite. Also it would feel (to me anyways) less of a cheat for warping me in besides the destination mission station and would add a bit more of a challenge to taxi/delivery missions.

Could the parents of the little Argon girl, Suzie, please claim her sealed jar of remains?
She didn't mind the gap and ended up vapourized!

Yeah I use the script as a way to cut down on micromanagement of powercells and overall cut down on the amount of time I have to spend traveling and increase the time I spend doing fun stuff.PaulP wrote:No Free Jump for wings yet. You'll have to ask Graxster if he plans to make one
It's in the GJD (the one that bounty_hunter66 mentioned), but that one has a timer and requires 2x energy cells instead of being free.
So more powercells and the wait time just don't work for me.

Seconding this. Would be a great additionGunFox wrote:Am I missing something or is there no Free jump option for wings?
That would be an extremely handy feature. I primarily employ wings for fighters, but I also employ a spare few for the mini-carriers that cart them around. It makes certain things really difficult.

I had a thought today while sleeping in calc class...
If you add e-cells and the same amount of cargo bay extensions, will that work instead of getting your ships cargo and then putting it into an array etc?
I know you can just add engine tunings and rudder, but will the same work with cargo bays?
once you are done with them, just take them away again... shouldnt be too hard...
This would allow you to add e-cells, call the regular jump command with countdown and timer, without worrying about tons of ware crap...

In short: no. Without a Mod, you can't exceed the maximum cargo bay upgrades.Lancefighter wrote:I know you can just add engine tunings and rudder, but will the same work with cargo bays?
Updated to version 1.4
- Hotkey now checks for installed jumpdrive.
- Added Free Jump in Wing command console.

Grax, I love you.
The jumpdrive only requiring credits is one of the best ideas ever.
I use the jumpdrive extensively, obviously, but I can't begin to tell you how often I forget to refuel and end up traversing 3 sectors at ~100m/s.
I'd be happy even if the price in credits were the maximum of 20cr per cell.
Hell, I'd still be just as happy if it was 40cr per cell.

Violence only works if you use it.

I've not used scripts before...
I don't see any explination on how to install this.
I downloaded the manager...
and downloaded the script...
The "Mod" key in the game is grayed out...does not let me use...
and in the game no navigational key for free jump.
The mod installer says the script is enabled?
What am I doing wrong?

Could you turn this into the old Advanced Jumpdrive for x3r? Eg, a new drive and it uses shield energy instead of credits?
Cycrow made the original one? Haven't seen it yet so i'de assume he hasn't plans to remake for tc?
I really miss my advanced jumpdrives
Also, you managed to hotkey it? Is this because of some new features for editing in tc? I remember that with the advanced jd you couldnt hotkey it and had to go through the menus to do it.
Advanced JD, with a hotkey (I'de just replace shift-j) would simply be the best script ever
Thanks a lot for the great script! (Although I find it a little cheaty, hehe)

Wait for Cycrow's script. I considered using shield energy as a "cost", but then it really kinda defeats the purpose of the script in many cases. Let's say you want to make a jump to go into battle, or you want to send some ships/wings into battle. Well, it would kinda suck for the jumpdrive script to take away half your shields just before a fight...

Not exactly that, no. Up until today I've had zero crashes, or any other major problem for that matter, with X3TC. Today I added this Free Jump script and no other to my game, and so far today I've had one CTD and one BSOD. I have no idea if it's this script or not, and frankly I don't know how a script could even do such a thing, but this is the only thing that's different since. I'd love to continue using this, as like others I hate micromanaging my energy supply, but if this continues I'll have to remove this script and revert to an earlier save. Thankfully I made a backup of my saved game folder just before; I just hate to lose what I've done since this morning but that's the price we pay I guess.
