v1.3 will include the hotfix so I don't see why not.

I'm impressed - much smoother gameplay in those problem sectors. Didn't think my game was playing too bad for the most part but this has made things a whole lot better. Well dones & thanks!

Hmm, i have no noticeable improvement in performance at all, i still have game-breaking slowdown in combat. massive pauses every few seconds, interface disappearing and the like.

That sounds like other issues... Best to open a new bug report with dxdiag info. Could be caused by codecs, sound drivers, etc.

Mmm... something seems to be happening for me on steam... although it's taking a long time for a 1.2MB change file...
My favourite memory of the X series was babysitting that TL across half the universe in XTension and finally arriving in Getsu Fune to be gifted the TL! I called her Big Bad Orca...

It's not on Steam yet, sigh, but thanks anyways Egosoft :)

Can people actually confirm that this works?

You can just extract it to your X3TC directory manually and it will update your steam version to 1.2.1

It wont show in the launcher, but in game it works. Of course this might mess up once steam does release the update, but it works at your own (minor) risk.

The best way is to point the patcher to a temporary directory, check the files, back up the old ones, then copy the new ones over.

steam is mostly pretty quick about updates in the past. few hours to a day wont hurt.. no if a game is MP then waiting would blow..

*Shakes fist angrily at Nightwatch*

Sigh, I guess I should stop lurking about the forums now. I'm sure Steam will get to patching TC by tomorrow. Now for some Dead Space...

Great news.

Though to be honest it's not that wonderful that such problems were there to begin with, game crippling performance problems after slightly prolonged use are not what you should come to expect from a game that has been released, why not try finishing the thing before releasing it maybe. Having a wonderful continued policy for patching simply highlights the inability to finish a game properly and to an acceptable degree of quality before release.

But still... Great news...

Wonderful!!!

It definitely solved my performance issue, from a crappy 10 fps to a sweet 60 fps again with all settings maxed out!
Currently playing on a HP XW8600 CAD station, hopefully my boss doesn’t mind

Thank you EGOSOFT!!!

Wow! That's made a huge difference. I knew the game was getting sluggish, but it had been getting worse at such a slow but steady pace that i hadn't realised just how much better things were when i started playing.

As indicated that's made things TONNES better. Thanks Egosoft.
