The steam version doesn't apply this bonus pack, you need to download and do it yourself by pointing it to the appropriate directory (steam/cache or something similar).

Have got GOTY 07 version of X3 is this the bonus pack included or do I need this one aswell????

I believe a version of the BP is included with your game. However, the BP has just been updated so you'll miss out on all the new goodies if you don't install the latest version.

Ok, now I'm going o give a really noob question. Been playing X3 for ages with scripts so I only paid slight attention before...

Just reinstalled and replaying vanilla plot so I can unlock stuff again. Been searching through 4 or 5 different places but can't seem to figure out if the Bonus pack marks the game ***Modified***?

Really wish there was a way I could play with Cockpit Callback without game being modded, but you can't have everything, I suppose.

What's the bother with having **Modified** right at the bottom of the statistics where no-one'll ever see it unless you scroll right to the very bottom and hit printscreen?

Heh, no bother at all. In fact I've had it that way for ages. Now I want to unlock stuff... That's what this exercise is about for me.

The Bonus Pack does NOT give you a Modified tag

I havent really played X3 yet. So, Im not sure what difference or benifit the mods would be for me.

If anyone can please help me figure out whats worth to use?

And if anyone has run across a bug for any of the addons definatly let me know. Last thing I wantto do, is play through X3 for the first time, to be faced by bugs.

Make sure you're patched to the latest patch (2.0.02), and install the bonus pack. That should be enough to start the game with. If, after playing for a while, you find yourself getting frustrated by missing things which you think should be in the game, then you should go to the scripts and modding forum to try to find what you need to fill that gap.

IMHO, don't mod the game up until you've played it for a while, and know what to expect from the vanilla game. There's plenty to keep a beginner on their toes without adding extra complications.

Do AI controled ships use 'afterburner'? If not wouldnt this be considered cheating?

no, they dont make use of the afterburner.

whether you consider it cheating is upto u, but there are other devices in the game that the AI dont use.

they dont use the Jumpdrive, with the expection of some of the plot missions.

they dont use the docking computer

they dont use the transporter device
