I imagined the game would include something like this anyway and I was dissapointed when it didnt. just the usual empires, nothing new...

So this set of changes could be the most important development in the game since X2...

As i've had too many stellas to carry on coding and I like the sound of my own voice I may as well report on the current state of the AI Empire :)

AL plugin ready with uninstall at 100% nuclear (crap is out of the way)

On starting 5 races will be created from any of the 5 normal races and also the pirates, race 1,2,3, & the yaki and the last one who's name currently eludes me.

They start as a one man Imperial MK3 TS and start to earn cash, after they reach xcredits they will create another TSMK3, then a TP (up to a ?? ship limit) which runs TDock wares from Tdock to Tdock (small% of nice bounty for interested parties). As their funds and experience grow they will start to create small fighters which earn per hour as they either protect the TP's or kill all enemies.

Once the AL players global net worth is over 1 million cr he will gain the abilty to buy Bigships and also stations, with enough funds in their account they will then buy M6 class ships that will undertake sector patrols where faction stations are located along with faction specific JTP commands enabled. :twisted:

Next the AL will build stations (like everything else there is a build limit (LAG :( ) ) that earn cr per hour (higher the station cost the more the $$$)

and finally once the Al net worth is over 60 m credits it can build cap ships that undertake patrol and JTP duties.


All high fightrank AL fighters and caps have capture ability on other ships that will be sent to shipyards for sale.

Thats what i have done up to now :)

All idea's are welcome but until the current code is stable i'm not adding anything else.

lag....wosat-then....let em build infinately....there can only be one true power in the universe so they wont building more than i let em :D

and these 1 ghz gf 5 series owners can always disable in the al if it becomes to much.......or preferably the earth will just open and swallow them whole :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

I swear that you scripters get together just so you can plan when to release everything at once. I have just got on the Xtended mod 0.5 , and am loving it, then suddenly this! Amazing, I will definetely be playing X3 24/7 from now on. Guess revision has just moved to the bottom of my list of things to do :roll:

wow wot a day...all this has been donee while i sat cleabning my room :evil: oh well all night session conming i can senses it.


lv i swear i tried to use it on a new save game but i have suicidal tendancies :P :P :P

whats the worst can appen......melt my game :D :D :D wot fun :lol:



i have built 2 very large empires......still having fun....red spots scripts are adding attacks akimbo for me to repel.....but this script....now this script alomg with a bunch of others (but mainly this one) almost kakes me wanna play throught again, it might just add enough extra to gloss over the `been there done that` thats setting in.....although still fun :wink:

I am trying this mod, and there are other traders appearing, but they have names like Readtext 6456 Vendors (those aren't the actual numbers). Is this because it isn't using the names properly? Or do I need to put the names on seperately?

that will be from the 447700 forum name list file which i assume you have installed as it's returning "vendors".

are all of them doing it?

Yes, every trader I have seen now has been Readtext, some numbers, then vendors, or someother company name.

a little test for you guys

in the script plugin.handymen.setup.ships right at the bottom of the script is a write to logbook command

Code: Select all

122    $m = $ship + ' created in ' + $rand + ' belonging to the ' + $tru.own + ' local price is ' + $fgdfd + ' global bank is ' + $bank.spawn
123   *write to player logbook $m
re-comment that in and when factions are created it will return to logbook.

also to test this quickly run plugin.handymen.count , you will be asked for a value, 1 will nuke all factions from the game and any other number creates them. (seta for 1 min after using 1 as the command scans a few times before reinitialising them.

if your ok with the SE please try this a few times to see if the RT still happens as the one most important piece of code in the entire plugin is the faction name which controls every other aspect of the plugin :shock:

hmn, i just started a fresh new game and everything is working as intended here so i'm even more puzzled as to why rt's are happening, i even created 30 races with all being named correctly :?

come on where is everyone???? this script is fabulous, it adds exactly what the game box suggests it has as content but doesnt.

get this baby installed and tested for him so we all benefit from this great script.

adds life to the universe big time :) :) :) , try it n see

When do the competitors arrive?

Do i need to go into the scripteditor or is it sufficient that the al-plugin is active?

Been playing with this for about 2 hours (real time with approx 30 min of SETA x 10) i have yet to encounter anyone.

I installed this manually btw

I did come across a BBS that told me of my value of credits+ships+stations but only for me, no competitors!

as far as the RT it's reaaly puzzling as it's taking half the text.

set the plugin to off and then switch it back on and see if they load again while i ponder also re-install the script after disabling it.

i'm even going to turn msn on for a while, the links in my profile

Edit ive just had someone check and on installing the script and running it all the factions were named correctly so it must be your install i assume open up 447700 in your t folder and see what number the last name is
