Cartel Shield Hacker (also part of the latest bonus pack) allows you to steal from ships.

As for the input string, it's probably asking for a "b" or "s" so it knows if you're trying to buy or sell.

edit: well, hmm... the steal wares command shouldn't even be asking for a string. Are you using the steal wares station/target commands or trying to use the Bulk transporter upgrade command on a target ship?

Trying to use the steal wares part, I go to commands:Piracy:steal wares: and select the ship in the sector, (I'm inside of 5km) and input string comes up. I tried typing one and it says "Command failed, Target does not have any "1" in it's cargobay" or something to that effect. If I try typing in what I want verbatim, it just says autopilot activated and nothing happens.

I'll try out that cartel mod, see if that works.

why oh why are there dud/ not working as required/ just plain not working scripts still listed in the library?
