Its not just afterburners (which gillions of folk ask for btw), or less particles (which trillions of peeps ask for btw), it's out of zillions of suggestions, not one was implemented.
Yes, X is egosofts project and we will get the game they want us to have. I have already said this.
I was under the impression we only had a mouse interface (icon driven) as a spin-off from the intention to make X3 available for consoles.
And as I remember different sector sizes and gate placement was Burnits or one of the devs idea that they put to the fans in a post last year.
I haven’t got a clue what all the other stuff is.

I'd love to be at the dev meetings at egosoft - sitting round the table with a massive list of user suggestions... I imagine 99% of them make them p**s themselves... for my part as an avid fan for nearly 3 years... I'm pleased as punch with the evolvement of the X series... roll on 33 more years (then I'll be too old to play games... perhaps...)
Imagine a game where you get all the stuff the devs want in there... plus they make it so you can modify, add and change anything you don't like or would want... that would be some game!
What's that? You can do that??

I've just listed some that they implimented.it's out of zillions of suggestions, not one was implemented

So every feature has to be one that a fan suggested, and Egosoft aren't allowed to put in their own ideasActually fans never asked for to not being able to land in factories. and yet they removed it.

Like I said, it's their project.
Actually, they did. I remember numerous posts, especially on DevNet, about how capturing should be reworked, completely or partially.Fans didn't ask to change the capping of ships and yet they changed that
No, they asked for corvettes to be able to dock with stations. They won't fit inside though, will they...?Actually fans never asked for to not being able to land in factories. and yet they removed it.

Not to forget a built-in muffin-making function, which I asked for multiple times and it still isn't implemented...CrossWire wrote:Its not just afterburners (which gillions of folk ask for btw), or less particles (which trillions of peeps ask for btw), it's out of zillions of suggestions, not one was implemented.
And again, a lot of suggestions got included, of which esd and I gave a few examples.
But you can't expect zillions of suggestions to get implemented. And I'm still at a loss concerning the particles... Please point out the trillions of people requesting that, because I've managed to totally miss that.

*edit* Ok now Im really worried

I think over the years fans have requested every possible idea for the X series including "if you can believe" a built in muffin maker. I think the same old ideas just keep going round and round.
But it was the devs that gave us the icon driven interface and the different sized sectors with unusually placed gates. I like the various sized sectors but that icon menu thingy just gets in the way.
SAYING all that, I still love the game.

and there are still people out there who still can't play the game for one reason or another so stay annoyed because they have a legitimate grievance and a right to complainxeon_1 wrote:that they take there time with the development of the patch's

I love the game and think that egosoft has done a wonderful job on changing things for the most part.
People need to have some patience, let them finish testing the 1.3 patch so we get a polished patch that does a bunch of things for us.

You called them on that one! They added the mouse interface so it would be easier to port to consoles, since you know, ALL of them have mice.CrossWire wrote:Its not just afterburners (which gillions of folk ask for btw), or less particles (which trillions of peeps ask for btw), it's out of zillions of suggestions, not one was implemented.

Seriously though, I don't see how the icon driven interface helps with console porting at all. Sure, the icons would be helpful to see, but it would be far more efficient to use the menu driven system that originated in X2. Who wants to point around the screen with an analog stick?
As has already been said, they have implemented lots of ideas from players. Of course they've added stuff they think is a good idea, because they're the ones making the game! It's ultimately up to them what to include or remove.
I, for one, love the new stuff in the game. The stuff they took out doesn't bother me - internal docking is cool, but it doesn't really add that much to the game, and I couldn't care less about cockpits. We've received lots of cool additions/changes also, like the new physics, much improved combat, improved graphics, etc.

by the way, the 1.3 patch suggestions list topic was quite good.
it had lots of ideas for fixes and upgrades. most of them were quite reasonable and would contribute to a good gameplay experience. (the post was over 20 pages long, lots of suggestions)
now it has floated off to someplace and i doubt that those requests will be included. if they were, x3 would really be the game it was supposed to be and what everyone hoped it toe be.

Not my "Capital Ships should dock Fighters" poll.esd wrote:Polls also typically have a very low "turnout rate". Ofthe number of users actually reading the forum, only a small fraction will be bothered to vote.
I agree though, let them take their time with this. Patch 1.2.01 fixed a lot for me, but not everything.
I heard esd or CBJ say that they are working on patch 1.2.03.

I have purchased the game and I am very disappointed with performance inconsistency on my AMD 64 3200+, 1GB RAM and GEForce 6800 system. I have decided not to play the game until patch 1.3.

Most complaining do have a life. But they want a product they bought to work, simple as that. No fans forced Egosoft to release it early. It was released early for other reasons. Thank goodness consumers DO complain about these sort of things. If they didn't, this world we live in would be a complete mess! It isn't great as it is.
But anyway, regardless of the circumstances Egosoft found themselves in (the publishers being the most likely culprit), these people are fully entitled to get what was promised on the box. How difficult is that for you to understand? This is the game's forums. This is where you come to comment on the game, afterall.
For me personally, I have had very few problems with the game. I've been lucky. But am somewhat dissapointed that certain features are still broken...after over a month later. I stopped playing this game a couple of weeks back. I'm waiting for the game to work as intended before I carry on. So as not to spoil the whole experience.
In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move...

I want to jump on the built in muffin maker idea....
To those who bought the product and are dissapointed...deal with, your not out a huge amount of money for god sakes. You act as if you bought a freakin car and it doesnt run, its a game....of which alot of people like, and it didnt cost a huge amount.
Everyone entitled to their own opinion, but seriousy chill out....till then complain about the muffin maker not being included in the last patch.

It's been moved to tech support. I think one of the admin's moved it coz he didn't want it dissapearing to obscurity...which is a good thingCrush wrote:by the way, the 1.3 patch suggestions list topic was quite good.

Sorry, it wasn't a rant at all, and the windows 98 was directly related to the post I quoted... and to other threads about how it delayed the patch release date.Baleur wrote: Who said anything about win98? These poor guys just asked when we can expect the 1.3 patch!!
There is NO ranting to be found anywhere in this thread, so why are you starting one?
I was about to make a thread last night myself, because i simply wanted an estimate, this week or not. There is no need to be rude about it, you should probably unload your anger at whoever is making you so frustrated instead.
Have a nice day
If you choose to read my post as a rant - then I cannot stop you. Obviously your wrong, but hey - not everyone is perfect... unlike me
