And im here to tell you something great.

Evolve is FREE TO PLAY in steam.

They made a huge patch to revitalize it.

I tested it a couple ours ago and is fun to play it.

Interesting. I would think they're trying to get a "player-injection" for their multiplayer-only model. (Shrinking player-base is the #1 problem for MP-only games, especially "match" games.)

As even the devs state, the DLC thing was certain a "shitstorm" (their words). To add insult-to-injury, the release price for the base game, considering the DLC and the huge number of release options, was a bit... ridiculous. All that DLC and they "up-fronted" their hosting costs on a Day1 release?

I wish them well, though. It's an interesting concept, made even more interesting by one wondering how they're going to keep depth and replayability, considering it's something of a one-trick pony. (No reason they can't change that, though.)

And.. it's free "for keepsies!" That's pretty interesting. (Helps give them a larger arena-pvp base too, I imagine. Interesting model.)

Well, there are no private information exchanged whatsoever and once you redeemed your code, you can unlink your Steam account from your Humble Bundle Account again.

I thought the main catch was that The Crew is refried garbage? It's not supposed to be a very good game, and since it's pretty much multiplayer only, my guess is that this is a last-ditch attempt to actually get some people playing the thing.

I read somewhere that The Crew 2 (Or whatever it's going to be called) is out soon-ish, so it's probably more an attempt to drum up interest in that. Anyway, in about a weeks time, it'll be replaced by Beyond Good and Evil as the monthly free game.

Over on Origin in the meantime, they're giving away Dungeon Keeper.

The catch with "The Crew" is that you have to pay for the many DLC's to really play the game. And the game is so friendly to tell you about it at any given moment.
I.e. in one story line chapter - after half an hour of gameplay - your goal is to buy a car from a car dealer but this car is only available in a DLC
or also when clicking on most icons/goals on the map.

Like when Egosoft would make every sector in X3 a paid DLC and everytime you fly through a gate or want to take a mission the shop overlay opens.

Second part was announced to be in development as well.
I wonder if they are going to release some more information except that they are working on it.

Its sad that its just a DosBox with the game, i still hope someday they will do like Age of Empires and make an HD version of the game.

Just a note: The original Dungeon Keeper and DK2 both have some issues running on modern systems. At least, the older versions do, even with dosbox/etc. BUT, I think GoG has ironed out the issues for their versions, so if you're really looking for either, check GoG. https://www.gog.com/game/dungeon_keeper (Still uses a dosbox, but its transparent, I think. Also, there is a directx enabled version, somewhere, and I don't know if GoG has already ported their version across to a directx compatible.)
