I'm looking at the image with maximum zoom and all that I can see is typical asteroid with a dot that looks like hangar/dock entry at top-left section and vague shapes/shadows of some kind of structures in bottom-right part.
Nothing indicating anything racial-traits.

In close proximity to the newly spotted structure another exploration drone (this time with enhanced optics) spotted a unknown vessel.

I think that is some kind of xenon cargo ship. Maybe the xenons are getting proper economy?

Is that a piece of an asteroid at the upper part of the ship? Not exactly what you'd expect in Xenon ship design.
Immediately reminded me of the Collectors from Mass Effect, though ... Suicide Mission DLC confirmed.

Are you sure that is an asteroid? I think that is some kind of shell, like the one on the xenon K.

That's not a Xenon, but then again the Xenons aren't interested in killing it so it can't be a peaceful thing.

I mean, Xenon aren't orange? Also it looks a bit organic. The top "turtle shield" reminds me of Boron capital ships.
But somehow I don't see any weapons of it.

At first I tought that those large tubes on the left are thrusters - but I can see engine trails at the right side of that *thing*.
Those two large tubes might actually be cannons or something?

Something is telling me that it belongs to the Boron. Or at least used to. It seriously feels very boron-ish. It's a gut feeling, I can't explain it. Just feels like it has something to do with the squids.

I still have a piece of official artwork showing marked outlines for what looks like an internally accessible captains quarters, cargo bay and engine room. Will that ever happen?

Also I was hoping since one of the steam wallpapers is of the Xenon Hub, will we ever see it again in XR and be able to play with it?

And Xenon ships that can be assimilated into the fleet? i.e. docking bay for appropriately sized ships.

And the ability to delete steam cloud game saves?

Just launch the game, then minimise it and go to documents, and delete the saves (while the game is running). Then bring up X Rebirth again, it will realise that saves are deleted and will remove them from cloud too.

It would be hilarious if the DLC/Patch or whatever Egosoft is working on got so bugged that new ships got merged with asteroids, and they're just posting pictures to see if we like it

But really... it looks odd seeing a space ship with half of, what it seams, like a terrain on top of it.

That doesn't change the fact that I can't wait for whatever it is they're working on!

Yes I agree. Xenon ships are not orange but blatantly red.

Maybe this is a special Boron or Split or Pirate ship "weapon" that can disguise itself from enemies but then again probably just took a picture from a bad angle or they just added some Xenon ships around it to confuse us.

The back of this ship looks also wierd and non-Xenon.
Maybe it is a transformed Boron or Split ship Xenons have captured and converted into their fleet.
It doesn't seem to have a bridge, so it can't be organic which the Xenon fighters around it already indicate very much

Ha! I know what it is and I can't belive how simple it is!

This in not a Xenon ship, but a <name of new faction> Xenon Control ship!

First - not a single part of that ship looks Xenon to me - Xenons never ever used organic ships, nor did they reused other races ships. They can adapt (like introducing M6, and M7 in reaction to other factions), but they do not improvise.

Second - I looks at the ships and tried to guess what it is. I noiced and obvious thing - this ships has a lot of antennas...why.....<noticed aparently friendly Xenon ships>....because it designed to fool Xenons and make them protect/escort that ship. Notice that it has not a single turret visible so it must 100% rely on Xenon escort.

Now the problem is who this ship belong to - if I would not see it I'd bet it could be some kind of Maelstrom Split ship, but the shape is totally against it.

It could be Boron, but it's not organic enough and the orange is the last color when you think about Borons.

It could be Paranid ship and that shell would not be organic, but rather fatigue/old silver Paranid shell that stoped beign shiny and silver over time.

Or this could be a completely new race - but I somehow doubt that Egosoft would dare to introduce a new race when Borons/Paranids/Terrans are missing.
