I just read through the 22 pages of this Forum...I see TWO responses from the CEO....I didn't buy this game because I had the distinct feeling something wasn't right...I am looking for an excuse (from the CEO) for a PROMISE that Egosoft will make it up to the X-Fans Standards. I saw ONLY two early posts form him. Am I correct?
In My opinion, he is like the contents of his game, a "No Show".
This is kind of trivial really, but will we see the original cockpit animation come back to rebirth?
I like the old videos where it showed "Rens" hands on the yoke and his arms pulling the drone screen down. It just gave it a little more realism...
You did not make the game that you promised and I will not be supporting this product. By all means, please continue to expand and develop X3 and ultimately a true successor to that and I will happily shell out money for the end product. You will not get my business for a pre-order ever again nor will I place faith in your companies promises or hype.
I have submitted a ticket to steam requesting a refund.
I've never asked this of you before however I am so very much appalled at the quality and bugs of X: Rebirth that I would like to obtain a refund for my pre-ordered version of this game.
There were a lot of promises and claims made by the developers that they simply did not deliver on, I feel cheated, lied to, and very disappointed in this developer that I previously loved. I want to make sure they know this is not acceptable and do not profit off of a lie. I have no desire to play this game and again ask that you please uninstall/refund my copy.

For the massive amount of bugs and unplayability, I suspect it would take a whole year to fix the game to a playable standard. It would take another year to add the major missing features the community demands.

In about a year Star Citizen will be out, hopefully it will better than all of X series. Hell, privateer was awesome!!

Glad I didn't fork over my hard earned cash.
Going back to TC:AP
Later Gents...and Ladies.
Nope, he's always here and in Steam Forum telling others how amazing and enjoyable the game is, just in other usernames.

I will just keep posting this: Nobody cares.

Yes, but society works via the rule of law, and in a lot of countries those laws start with words like consumer and protection and deceptive and description and faulty and product.
I do not often post on the forums but I do feel compelled to do so this time.
After putting in nearly fifty hours into this I have come to two conclusions, first and foremost is that there is potential here.
Secondly is that we as a community are going to have to tweak and fix the glaring technical and story driven issues in this game. Why? Because there are modders within our community that already seem to understand the code far better than the developers did and they have already gotten to some of the most irritating problems.
Egosoft, you can do several things here but the one that stands out the most to me is admitting that there was a royal screw-up here and that you need help. Give the modders who fix the glaring issues with your game a proper place in the credits as they clean up the mess. Go out of your way to support and help them and know that you need to not let this keep happening. You will eventually burn them out unless you provide a huge amount of support on top of admitting being wrong in so many ways.
My two cents. Signing off.
I never knew that Kha'ak tasted like fried chicken!
When I read some of the developer comments on here and on Steam forums I'm not at all convinced that Egosoft has understood the player feedback beyond performance related issues.
I'd like to see a list of improvements/requests that Egosoft has captured from player feedback with their position or point of view on each even if it is a To Be Determined or a flat out disagreement as with SETA.
Is that reasonable? Do you want a community member or player to do a draft for you?
Actually that's a pretty decent idea though the hard part is always getting developers to listen even if they do have it presented to them in itty-bitty steps.

Probably the devs will not check this here. I'd assume they have a ticket system. So the responsible ticket creaters and technical near mgrs would have to check such boards.
Furthermore I don't understand how X Rebirth could be that hard bugged and bad programmed. They have X2 and X3 done in the past and could overtake a lot of code.
Maybe they announced to start this years ago and worked with 3 ppl on it. And the real development just started 18 months ago? Only way I'd understand this poor outcome...

X4 Foundation - Fail start finally good
Eh, unfortunately have to agree with you there. I know some of the forum mods are highly active with the community but they are nowhere near the development team nor the programmers for that matter.
More I think about it, more I think that it'll eventually boil down to the modders community here stripping out the unnecessary garbage and putting in what should have been there in the first place, see the already existent Shut up Yisha mod among others. Not the best of design choices but probably the only way it'll be made what it should be.
The more I play the game itself though, the more it feels just painfully disjointed. The highway system is... interesting but poorly implemented and the station interiors and npc's seem jammed in there as last minute afterthoughts.... and lets not forget the 'map.' So may bizarre choices makes me wonder a great deal about what happened during the story-boarding process and the entirety of the development phase.

Right on, I agree compleatly. We should add consructive input, EGOSOFT has never let us down before. let them do what they do and in the end the game will be great. I felt the way the majarity feels when I first got X2 ( my first X game)I hated it but.........well as anyone who has played it saw how it turned out and is one of my most liked games still to this day

Was X2 as buggy as REBIRTH?
I rly can't remember. I just remember all the nice choice options to fly in any ship. The perfect mods for trading and for sure I did not have had any of those trade issues we have now.
I feel like X2 is much much better as Rebirth, with except of graphics. So renewing X2 would have been much better choice as developing such a alpha version of Rebirth - ah I forgot, it's released yet... so alpha like version.

I dont recall X2 being as buggy either but X3 was. I remember when the economy would grind to a halt because pilots who lost there ships would clog the stations making it impossible to dock among other things. It took a while to fix too.
I dont recall mentioning bugs, sorry I did not make myself clear but if you want to go that way then use x3 as an example for that if you want. Even still in Albion prelude ships fly through some stations, so what it is a good game. my point was that it was dif. then anything I had expected considering I just finished freelancer. The bugs will be fixed they have always been before. at least the ones that matter.

Sorry DJC, wasnt trying to undercut your post, just responding to eventus. Im in agreement with you on the continuing support for the game and I share your confidence with the devs getting the game in order.
There's another part of me that just wonders if they plainly ran out of money for development in the alpha stage. If you look at the engine they are running it on, that's new and rather heavily untested from the looks of it.
The good, they now have the capital to fix it and make it right, the bad, they took a royal beating by not releasing it as a paid-alpha in the reputation department. Hopefully it is a learning experience.
.... however if need be I also volunteer myself for the English side of male voice acting... preferably Teladi
