While that would exceptional, and truly allow me to play X Rebirth the way I played the X trilogy before it... I could handle just bridge addition.BigBANGtheory wrote:Getting access to a capital ship bridge unfortunately does not include being able to command it or its support vessels any better. We still need a way to interact with the game a command and control method that allows you to assess the in game environment and translate your thoughts as the player into commands that the AI will act upon. Position, facing, formation, rules of engagement, target selection, you can't command that properly atm.Tolmos wrote:Honestly, though... X Rebirth is getting ever closer to where I want it to be. The only thing really holding me back is something that a lot of you find to be insignificant- lack of capital ship bridges. Man it ruins it for me when I have to command my capital ship from the broom closet, where the rest of the crew just happens to be hanging out lol. But once they add that, I can pretty much look past the rest.
For me, I currently play Rebirth completely differently than X3. I still play AP regularly, because Rebirth gives me nothing to replace what I got in AP. In AP I spend almost all my time in a capital ship, only leaving on fighters or freighters either for things the computer will mess up, or simply when I am bored and want to do something small and fun (like switching to a fighter during a capital - vs - capital, where fighters are clashing all around them).
In Rebirth, I wouldn't be able to do that right now. BUT, what I would be able to do is at least land on my capital and not have my immersion completely and mercilessly destroyed by finding the entire crew standing on a platform in the middle of nowhere, calling in my orders via cell phone like they are ordering pizza.
Otherwise, I mostly play rebirth as a space flight sim than anything. When I want quick, fast paced, action I go Rebirth. Otherwise, if I want sim action then for now I go to X3:AP.
