I'm not quite sure what you are asking here, but if you are asking what the performance of the mod will be we can't really give a definite answer as not everything in the mod is up and running yet, but we can say that we are trying to keep the performance as good as we can.jacare wrote:Sorry for the dumb question.

Have laser towers been tweaked at all?
Find it kind of silly that 8-10 laser towers take down multiple m2 with maybe one or two towers lost. At least when in system they are a bit powerful.
Either that or the way ships deal with them. Fighters can rip them up as well as certain missiles. I watched a paranid m7m shoot swarm missiles across paranid prime sector against 7 laser towers while an m2 got ripped apart and no laser towers got destroyed by either. m3 ships seem able to deal with them in numbers due to agility/size/firepower ratio.

Substitute HL ep.3 for Duke Nukem forever, if you wish.X2-Eliah wrote:Unfortunately, there are no ETAs for disclosure. The reason being is that we have a lot of work to do, and unexpected problems may arise all the time. Furthermore, we will strive to deliver a finished product, not an alpha version with 50% working features and 50% mess. And, of course, there is a lot of balancing to ensure that the game isn't too easy (pretty much like vanilla), but is still as fun.
So no, there is no release date, sorry.
But worry not - the XTC will certainly not be like the Half-Life Episode 3
The policy has not changed - an ETA will not be given before we are 100% ready to release it. Nor is there any reason to place XTC and HL ep.3/DNF in the same bunch. If you knew how things are going on the dev end of XTC, you would not worry.. Things are going smooth, and more and more features are getting implemented and finished.
The reason for the admittedly long development time is the scope and depth of the changes. Major sections of the game itself are being changed - or have already been changed, I should say, so this is much, much more than mere stat tweaking. Takes more time, yes, but the reward is significant.

Not only that, but we do this in our spare time once our day jobs are over, not as our main job - so dedicating 12 hours a day just to the mod is not a realistic or feasible expectation for any of the teams members. We haven't even the incentive of a big fat pay check when we release, we do this purely for the fun of doing it.X2-Eliah wrote:Substitute HL ep.3 for Duke Nukem forever, if you wish.X2-Eliah wrote:Unfortunately, there are no ETAs for disclosure. As soon as we have any idea of a release date, so will you.

Well, actually it is... Why not try to make a deal with Egosoft and release this as a full-rights expansion? Then You can make XTC Your JOB and it will be payed well?Aragon Speed wrote:Not only that, but we do this in our spare time once our day jobs are over, not as our main job - so dedicating 12 hours a day just to the mod is not a realistic or feasible expectation...

Just an idea though

It doesn't work like that.
There would be deadlines and other unpleasant things that are not arrangable with real life and the majority of us already has a full-time job. If you want to spend some money you can always donate to TXU to keep our server up and running. That helps more then anything else.

Hi guys, first let me say I truly admire the skill and dedication of the whole Xtended team, you folks have done truly amazing work! I only wish I had the time and talent to contribute to the effort in some way, but that is well beyond my skill set.
I like so many others am very curious on release dates however I fully understand with a "Hobby" project done on personal time this is impossible. Having said that would it be possible to get your feeling on how far along you believe the project is on a percentage basis, is the project say 60% complete, more or less?
I am sure you are sick of people asking, and I don't mean to push, I guess I ask this way because it will give folks a sense of where things are but does not require dates or timelines. I know very well that last 10% of development can take almost as much time as the first 90 in some cases, it just depends on the time avaliable to the talented team members.
Anyway just a thought, on the subject, love the X3R version and I know the TC version will be well worth the wait regardless of how long it takes.

I love the multi-pronged attack to try and glean information on the release date. And the soothing empathic balm of understanding rubbed liberally over the request. I feel to ignore this most recently well worded request by gigabyteMKP would be a terrible crime....
....What you need is to be able to give some press relief where you engage maximum verbosity delivered with verve and flair leaving everyone with a nice warm glow until they analyse what you say and realise they are none the wiser..
The XTC team are please to announce significant developments, since the original idea was formed, towards our common goal, we have, as you may expect, varied and expanded the goals of the project for the greater good. - Indeed we have, on a regular basis, kept you informed of this added detail and will continue to do so as and when it becomes pertinent.
Testing is ongoing and has given interesting and encouraging results and we can say that we are considerably closer to being able to announce a time when we may be able to issue news on a possible release date than we were at a time when it is safe to say we were not.
