1. It's not a mod. It's a plugin. Mods alter actual game files (add ney ships/station etc.) :wink:

2. Simply download the Zip, then extract it to your TC directory. When it asks to merge the 'Scripts' and 'T' folders, say yes.

Then, load your game, open the gameplay options and click AL Settings at the bottom. Hope I helped!

Sometimes i wonder why i've put "france" in the location field
oh yeah, to prove that (some) french people can speak english (and script too)!

Ok so alls i do is extract the zip folder then copy the script folder from PG into my script folder from original x3 tc and the same with the T and load screen stuff is that right or completely wrong ?

Effectively yes, but if you extract it to the directory you don't have to copy, it'll merge with the folders.

thats great cheers been so long since ive played the game cant wait to get back into with some mods to keep it interesting first plan is to send the SS Jolly Rogering straight into xenon space :)

hmmm hasnt worked i have maunually copied and pasted every file from the mod into my Scrip T and Load screen folder ? I dont see AL anywhere and im not quite sure what im looking for what have i missed out ?

Let's recap:

1. download ZIP, check

2. Extract ZIP file in X3's main folder. You do not need to manually copy files one by one. When asked if you want to overwrite folders/files, say yes.

If installed correctly, PG adds in:

c:\program files\egosoft\X3tc\script :
a bunch of files starting by "anarkis."

c:\program files\egosoft\X3tc\t :
a few files starting with 8513

I'm afraid that your method did this instead:

x3tc\scripts\scripts\anarkis....
x3tc\t\t\8513...
         ^
         +--- not good :)

Nope i am pretty new to this as ini havent ever moded or added scripts to any games but i understand the basics of computer i wouldnt copy the folder of scripts into the the x3tc script folder i copied the actualy files from the extracted pg folder into the x3tc scripts and T folders effectively merging them. What exactly is supposed to happen when these files are merged ? does it mean the scripts are running the second i start the game and what is this AL settings ?

You have to activate script editor by renaming your pilot "Thereshallbewings", then, under gameplay, activate pirate guild. And instal and activate Anarkis defense system first! Pirate guild can use it.

By the way these files ive pasted into my x3tc stript and T folders are xml documents is that correct i have extracted them ?

Ok i installed ads by using the copy paste shizzle i load a game up and i got a message saying it has installed but nothing about the pirate guild one

Ok first thing what is the easiest way to check that ADS has installed whats a really basic function of it that can be seen and how can i check if i PG is installed o and i havent changed my name to therewillbewings does that mean anything ?

Thereshallbewings activates the script editor. (Type it in and the game will freeze, then run again and your name will be unchanged. Make sure you put in a capital T, and the 2 Ls)

Type that in, then go into gameplay options and at the bottom it will say Artificial Life Settings.

Note: ADS does not show up here.

This shows PG, IR and the ECS for PG. And 2 of my own plugins, one of which is in work (that's why they have the same name...)

Ok i ive added ADS and Pirate guild in i have the Al settings menu and in that it says pirate guild and ECS ? what is ECS and shudnt there be ADS in there ?

ECS is the Extended Communication System. This is how yuo talk to the Pirate Guild Pirates. Look in your controls, Interface, down to the bottom. Set a hotkey. I use #.

THis can be used to comm Pirate ships within comm range, and ask questions to Guild ships, and a few to normal Pirate ships.

AHA found it :):):) you make me one happy camper sorry to be a pain in the ass for the last 2 days ill be having a nice little play with some of these mods is there any others you could reccomend to go with pirate guild and ADS ?

I would advise you to use the plugin manager for now on, because playing with trying new mods often ends up with a completly messed up and irrecoverable game.

Mods compatible with Pirate guild? I would recommand you "salvage command suite", "MARS", "CMOD3"... but there are so many great scripts out there, part of the pleasure is discovering them here in the forums ;)

It is currently compatible, but it may not be in future versions
(that won't come out anywhere soon)
And possible (if any) issues with the script won't be fixed.


Ref: Improved Races
I wouldn't recommend it until you're familiarized with scripts. It's somewhat buggy and changes the game a hell lot. Do not install the latest beta version, it's broken. (200 K 100 Q Xenon invasion :roll:)

Ref: Scripts/mods compatible with PG
Nearly all scripts so far apart from Friendly Pirates. All mods (things that change the map/ships..) should be compatible. I've written a FAQ and compatibility notes for a reason, guys.

Ref: ADS
ADS won't appear in the AL menu, it's normal. Most scripts won't. Only those labelled as "AL plugin" do.
