Will the saves of the old version be compatible with the new version?

I'm having this feeling that they won't <.<

Obviously not.. Unfortunately..

The 2.0 version will require a fresh new start (unless you want just the backgrounds), bu I reckon this will be the last time for a re-start. Unless Egosoft introduce a patch with even more sectors added.

I kind of used this mod just because I love the new backgrounds you added, tho I never restarted my game (partly because I didn't want to start all over again on my very first X3 game).

Is there a way to use the backgrounds without having to worry about other side effects combininig this mod with others? Again, I won't be restarting my game.

I did that with an older version. I reduced the mod to only dds/nebula/XXX in them.

Taking out the various maps/etc. If you just put the backgrounds in a cat file, most/all should work.

Now that the info on 2.1 is available (Ill spoiler it just in case though), shouldn't this mod be delayed, for the reason of
Spoiler
Show
that the 2.1 patch pictures seem to show off new sectors, or redesigned old ones, and that might conflict with this mods universe map.
Not really a pleasing concept though, but I reckon one restart is about as much as one can take..

The V2.0 is now ready and available for download!!!

I wouldn't imagine that there goin to be able to add many more sectors as i believe there is a limit to the number of items that can be added to the 00749.bod (999 i think) and after the 2.0 update that is standing at 995.

However it should be reasonably easy to sort without a restart..... i hope

Hi, I've highlighted where they are, (1st page of thread) There are two versions of the new mod (1 with a altered t-ship file & 1 without) and then there is the original d-load link for the V1 (1.4 compatible only).

I was unable to find this info. Where did you see this?

If you're right, would we be forced to restart again after 2.1?

Is it possible to install this mod as a fake patch?

Thanks for everything Spacefueladdict.

Ok :) Thanks a bunch.

Installed it as a mod, just to look around. Awesome stuff.

Small issue though; In Elena's fortune I noticed the Mil outpost had 3 boarding pods, newware19 and newware20. These newwares were also in the Argon Prime eq dock.

I will uninstall later and wait for your package tomorrow before starting a new game.

Looking great so far......

2.1 info - the Easter egg hunt on the X-Universe forum sticky is over, and the answers are linked - worth to take a look, as there is something that truly
Spoiler
Show
suggests a bunch of new sectors or sector renames in linkage of PHQ and some new mission(s?) - I'd wager it is capture an unknown sector and rename it, or something like that)
Either way, If my guess is right, it spells trouble. Perhaps.

Oh, and HOORAY ! for the new release!

It's possible trouble if there choose to re-name an unknown sector that i've changed the name of! '5 in total', however if there are new sectors and non of them conflict with my new ones the it would just be a case of reworking the patch, and repack it into a new cat.

Anyway i'll worry about that when the time comes, enjoy, and let me know if you find anything thats not quite right. :D

@ Eliah: Thanks. I will read that.

@ Spacefueladdict :

I uninstalled each and every script and mod and started the game new. All was OK. I then installed the mod, took the cat/dat file from the "mod" folder and renamed them 09.cat/dat into the game folder and removed the "mod" folder. This way I still have it installed as a fake patch.
I started up a new game and checked the Argon Eq dock in Argon Prime (I start as anon. Arg.) There was "SS_WARE_SW_NEW19" and 20.
No other mods or scripts installed, just this.

It is correct that vanilla has the cat/dat untill 08, yes?

Hope this can be solved.

Bando
