I DEMAND the 1.3 patch!
and
I DEMAND the updated U.S. Manual PDF!
and I should point out, that Douglas Adams must have imagined Forums when he wrote...
"Who are you?" said Lunkwill, rising angrily from his seat. "What do you want?"
"I am Majikthise!" announced the older one.
"And I demand that I am Vroomfondel!" shouted the younger one.
"Alright!" bawled Vroomfondel banging on an nearby desk. "I am Vroomfondel, and that is not a demand, that is a solid fact! What we demand is solid facts!"
"No we don't!" exclaimed Majikthise in irritation. "That is precisely what we don't demand!"
Scarcely pausing for breath, Vroomfondel shouted, "We don't demand solid facts! What we demand is a total absence of solid facts. I demand that I may or may not be Vroomfondel!"

Heh, who says size matters...
The bigger the patch, the more that is fixed/added
Heh, it took me awhile to realize that remote mining wasn't enabled...
Although, I do want to try using the mobile miner and fire it on a base... I mean, it took out an asteroid in like 5 hits... So it might be fun to see what happens!

Oh...
Black83: Rest assured, there WILL be 1.4. As you can see from the fixes list, this one concentrates on many, many major issues. Surely there will be room for at least many a small tweak after this one.
I'm going to do the same thing I did earlier. When I got the game, I installed it, played for about 2 hours, found it mostly a bad experience, uninstalled it.
Next was 1.2 (or so). Installed and patched the game, played it for ~25 hours, found economy etc. completely screwed, uninstalled it.
1.3 then.. list of fixes seems very good, and the given list isn't even a complete one! I do have to say my hopes are high up there for this one. Then again I also hope I wont be disappointed like last time(s)...
clarky2o2o: I think the patch will be rather large, with that many major issues fixed. But who knows... (not that I'd care even if my connection was on the slower end of the scale. If I wait some patch for months, I can also download it for a day or so without much grief.)
Finally, thanks for letting us know that Egosoft has not forgotten us. And please tell Suzie that gambling is bad.

Nothing will. The Mobile Miner doesn't affect materials that aren't rock-based. And I doubt you'll be able to mine those huge asteroids that have the mining stations attached to them without getting shot at by the cops.zerogman wrote: Although, I do want to try using the mobile miner and fire it on a base... The list isn't complete, so your fix maybe in there, then again it may notl84wrk wrote:This is great and all, but what about fixing the gamepad input? Still not working correctly. But still, I've only had one big crash since I started playing about 2 or so weeks ago and its good to see that they haven't ignored the game.

Dudes, those fixit boys and girls had better sort out the sectors.
It annoys me that in sectors where the space is clear, i can only just see 1 km in front of me yet in some sectors where it is nebulous (or foggy) i can still see planets. This typically happons in Boron space.
Im sure that must be easy tweaking; something like:
Typical Boron sector with high density nebula (or space dust what ever it is meant to be - regardless, if you cant see 2 km in front of you you certainly wont be able to see stars, sun, planets etc
Nebular density [1-100] : 100
Enable background field [0-1]: 0
View distance [1km - 1000km(max)]: 1km
Sector without space dust:
Nebular density [1-100] : 1
Enable background field [0-1]: 1
View distance [1km - 1000km(max)]: 1000km
or something like that. Gutting on the artists who designed the planets etc in the sectors with space dust but you just wouldnt see them.
I dont know why but this shoddy attention to detail gets on my goat!

Iguana Shild Problem
Any chance this update will fix the Iguana Shield problem - ie Iguanas can't mount 25MW shields as they can only carry small cargo containers whereas 25MWs are Medium, despite the ship being a large ship & the ship details stating Max shields to be 25MW???

Some of you expect too much.
Thanks for the update Abyss, take your time and get it right.
Hopefully this will calm down some of the more excitable elements of the membership"
I suppose i fall into the excitable class. It's not too much to ask to have a working game is it?
I hope the patch addresses tha ALT-TAB issue and numerous CTD's and before we start on the technical babble....no other game crashes and drags the whole computer down in the way X3 does. If a service pops into life whilst your running the game....good bye X3 session and a nasty reboot or praying you can reach the tak manager. The ability to minimise the game and return to play where you left off is not too much to ask.

I would say its more sad than it being a pain my frienddzhedzho wrote:lol, thats really pain. You fly you see a planet in fron of you and nothing else. You take a sip of coffee and, bang... hit an asteroid which just appeared.
In my eyes it *is* a graphical bug/flaw and it is shear lazy, incompetence and will show the inaptitude of the developers if they can’t fix such an easy fix. A fix that will add much to the serious simulator feel of the game.
At the moment it feels as though the developer and designers have gone, ‘my sector’s better than yours; it has a swirly planet in it.’ ‘Nah-uhh, mine’s better than yours. Look; it has planets, stars *AND* lots of cool fog – wooooo!’
Even my misses who I would say has as much interest in computer games as my fridge does commented on this!
All they need to do is physically check sectors to see if they have got the switches/setting right and adjust them accordingly. It could be as simple as sectors where the nebula/dust fields are on and dense e.g. boron space in the north west sector, turn off the backdrop! Easy! I like the nebulas becuase it means you have to rely on you sensors and it looks cool when the station suddenly appear. Shame i can see the planets in the background.
Ooow!! You had better do it Devs! Sorry about going on about this guys but would a mod or someone tell me that actually setting up sectors isnt anywhere as simple as i have assumed it is.
The only reason it bothers me is because im really enjoying the rest of it and it *seems* such a quick and easy fix…
Mate, if it is a simple matter of choosing correct variables for each sector I will do it to save the Devs time at least suggest values if there is such a thing.
I need some nice calming camomile tea. Sorry for the sarcasm
