Gotta give Trump credit, looking at the replies in this thread, he does draw out different shades of people doesn't he

One thing funny if you think about it, often time the main problem with politician is to hold them to the promise they made on the campaign trail after they settle down to the office. Most of the time, we complain because they fell short of the promise. Trump seems to involve the opposite effect, his supporters usually assure others something along the line of " it's ok, he's saying it now but he'll tone down and become more presidential later", and the general sentiment seems to be that people hope he will NOT live up to his campaign promise that he wins. :D

Here's one he managed to slip in under cover of the rest of his craziness.

American citizens accused of terrorism should be tried by a military tribunal rather than the courts.

Next time someone offers him a copy of the constitution to read, he should take them up on it.

I believe the Republican Party did that the moment they rigged the election in 2000.

Some serious grasping of straws going on here.
People who call out a candidate who's OBVIOUSLY calling for shooting his opponent are "Grasping at straws"?!

Dude, I'm a Conservative voter (in Australia). It would have been hard for me to vote for Trump if I were in America even before this, but this HAS to be the deal-breaker of all deal-breakers.

No matter how bad Mrs Clinton is, she hasn't called for her supporters to shoot Trump.

Tragically, the level of this campaign is low enough that this makes her the better candidate (and really, there are lots of things that make her better, but this is objective. There is no way that Trump should be put in charge of a chook raffle, much less the American government).

The people I feel sorry for are genuine, sane American conservatives. In their system there is no way for them to vote for a minor candidate without throwing their vote away, so they're stuck with this useless lump of protoplasm with a wig.

No problem on this one. Trump now says he was just kidding all along. His faithful have added "he has a good sense of humor" to their reasons to vote for him.

"The United States declares war on everyone!" said President Trump.

Later, it was discovered that he was just kidding.

Discovered by alien archeologists when they happened upon the burnt-out husk of Earth while searching for the source of the transmissions of "Dariya Dil", which became the foundation for the religious movement that transformed their once warlike society into a progressive culture of peace and knowledge, ultimately uniting the entire galaxy under one banner that promotes love, justice and compassion among all intelligent species.

Under cover of the firestorms he created while "joking around" Trump managed to have an interview with a Miami newspaper where he said that Americans suspected of terrorism should be tried by military tribunals rather than in the courts since he "doesn't like that at all."

It is a sign of how much chaos his campaign has created that no one noticed this, since it could easily have been headlined "Presidential candidate proposes abandonment of constitution." Of course, since it doesn't relate to the second amendment the gun nut crowd that normally flips out in defense of the constitution will undoubtedly just shrug this off.

They should be up in arms about it, as it is pretty easy to class a gun nut as a terrorist.

Most of our media leans left and is in full attack mode on Trump. Trump's comment was accurate, the liberal spin was not. The 2A is a very explicit threat to lawless government and not a justification to shoot anyone over politics. That's all the time I'll waste on that nonsense. In a week Trump will make another offhand comment and the media and the left will have something new to rage over in their safe spaces.

If the GOP wanted the votes of sane conservatives they shouldn't have tried to push RINO's like Jeb and Christie on us. This is what they reap.

Sane! How ironic! :D Oh btw, FYI for those involved in the discussion it's not like this is un-precended, he said this in January - quote: I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters. What a man, and the scary part is ... he's probably correct (as in he won't lose his voters even if he actually shoot someone):D

Nowadays those so call RINO are mostly the Sane one while the rest of the party has been hijacked by Tea Party nuts!

This whole fiasco just show the US desperately need more than two parties to truly represent all the spectrum of politic. IMO with the current climate it'll need at least 4:

- Far left: Benny Sander and his supporters.
- Far right: Ted Cruz, Palin and their Tea party can camp here.
- Center left: Clinton.
- Center right: Rubio and Bush.

This way it doesn't get bottle down to people in the same party don't end up calling each others RINO and shit. Right now we have Republicans who call Tea party as political terrorist, and Democrats who think Sander is a communist and internally accusing each others as not being liberal enough or conservative enough.

This way, maybe the voter can finally be able to truly with vote with both their heart and conscience for a candidate they believe will represent them the best, not these "Don't like A but vote for A because B is worse" or "You have to support Trump because you're Republican no matter how crazy he is or you're just a RINO". :x

Oh btw, in case you wonder why I didn't put Trump somewhere among the 4 parties listed earlier, because I don't think he'll fit anywhere. Trump is his own man, an unwitting hero, our lord and savior who descend into this chaotic and dysfunctional system to burn it to the ground so that we might arise anew from ash by showing us all how stupid we all are. We're stupid for not acknowledging or ignoring the problems he brought up earlier, and we're equally stupid to actually believe him and make him our candidate.

At least, that's what I'm trying to make myself believe so I don't have a withdrawal disorder. :P

For the record, Trump says something idiotic just about every day, and spends the next two or three blaming the media for "spinning" it. What the media actually does is plays the tape so everyone but the Trump faithful can see for themselves that Trump said something idiotic.

His call for the "second amendment people" to "do something" was so far over the line that no amount of blaming the media is going to salvage that one. He shouldn't have wasted his "just kidding" card on the ridiculous "Obama founded ISIS" comment, he should have played it on that one.

He could have said "I see that was in poor taste, even for me," and maybe gotten away. Clinton got away with the "staying in the race in case Obama gets assassinated" remark back in 08 by acknowledging the error and apologizing.

I'm not a tea party member. I haven't had much interest in them other than being disappointed that the people responsible for the IRS targeting them for persecution won't face justice. Do explain what makes them nuts.

Probably the biggest single thing that qualifies them as "nuts" is the obvious distance from reality required to believe "we represent about a third of a political party that represents less than a third of registered voters, yet in a representative democracy we should always get our way or it proves the system isn't working." They fly directly in the face of basic mathematics constantly, and it can't be because none of you understand the basic mathematics.
