Being a programmer doesn't mean you cannot spell.
It means any typing mistakes you make are possibly seen by *millions* though :)

That said I am a programmer and a self-appointed official of the 'Apostrophe Police', and pedantic about it to a fault.
Setup: Quad Q9550/2.8Ghz, 4Gb low latency RAM, 8800GTX/768, 24"widescreen 5x500Gb SATA2s, Win7.

I still have too the main cockpit in the nova rear turret !?

I have the patch 1.3 installed and tried out this mod (latest version). The black cockpit, i had first, disappeared by docking, undocking or jump to another sector and everthing looks allright until i decided to buy a nova attacker:

1. there is the main cockpit in the rear turret
2. the turret doesn´t fire

have you fixed it meanwhile ?

Nope, unless I'm going to go through every scene file and make a new cockpit position at the front of the vessel per reasons stated above. This is nothing new, also stated above.

Yes, it is quite possible. And no, I will not do it because it's not easy and I don't really have the time to do it.

as i only get an M3 cockpit view

Cockpits are fantastic - I finally feel as if I am flying in a ship in space!

The biggest sense of this is when you change from a fighter to a freighter like a mercury.....you actually notice a differnce, the lethargic controls that you feel through the joystick make sense and actually feel in place.

After half an hour play - I could never go back to the hud only view.

I've never played an X game so I look at the cockpits from a new view - they are definately functional, the way the light plays over them is great when you turn towards or away froma light source or fire your weapons, after a while you notice the guages etc in the cockpit aren't just pretty - they actually tel you your throttle, shield strength, enrgy level, missiles left etc, they change a little to simulate head movement and thrust and that adds so much "connection" with the view on screen.

All this blew me away - I thought it would just be a simple overlay - how wrong I was.

They are perfectly functional, look fantastic and add so much to immersion.

After holding off for a while thinking they were "only" a mod - i installed them and .... wow!!!!! Its a new game

wow that's weird -- I think shipnose+cockpit are a heavenly combination.

both add to the sense of shipness.

that was the best!Personally I prefer having the tp cockpit to the ts class.Good work!Perhaps you'll create a mod that changes the x3 nova to the x2 nova[from the outside not the cockpit or the turret!]Anyway I hope that I'll see more mods which change x3 to x2 in various minor ways.

Can someone get me a screenshot of the Nova's turret that has the M3 cockpit? Because the only ships I found that had the M3 cockpit was the ones with the broken turrets, which I will be fixing.

And Stevio, I will be getting the Khaak'pits back in with the next update. :)

*Edit* Ok, a new version of Cockpit Callback is up. This fixes the Nova's back turret thus giving it the proper turret cockpit, and the Khaak ships have Khaak'pits.

more bad news i am still getting M3 cockpit in kha'ak fighter.

perhaps the M3 cockpit is overwriting the Kha'ak cockpit or something?

i will have to have a look in scouts and interceptors to see if they have kha'ak cockpits or not

Edit: All three Kha'ak fighters [Scout/M5, Interceptor/M4, and Fighter/M3] are not using the kha'ak cockpits. they use the normal race M5, M4, and M3 cockpit's???????

Redownload which ever version you like again, if it still doesn't work post again. And make sure the new one overwrites the old one.

Hi There.

I've tried downloading the Cockpit Callback Mod but it fails to download. I just thought i'd mention it. I dunno if its my computer or the link. Has anyone else had the same probs?

Oh yeah, before i forget...A big thanks to Galaxy. The effort and time you have put in has enriched this game no end. Cheers Bud!

good news the Kha'ak cockpits work again. i had an old CC+Min HUD in the Mod file it must have been overwriting it somehow.

:gruebel: but i definately did have the CC2X131 selected as the mod package to use. wierd :?

You could try moving the mods folder and creating a new mods folder and put ONLY the CCX131 mod in there and try it.

don't worry, i just deleted the CC + minimal hud combo i didn't really like it :P
