Thanks Paul. I seem to have stumbled upon the right one finally. I will have to keep this in mind as I had not noticed the second Tships file. Now to find the Military Scanner and make is small enough to fit on an M6. I had it working but during this little test, I deleted the old cat/dat file so I'm back to hunting and pecking. I'm guessing that any changes wont show up until I start a new game? I did change what I thought were the appropriate wares but it doesn't update on my save game. I'll keep working at it...not a big deal as I'm sure I'll get it figured. No need to add to your workload...while I bumble around. :D

I am loving the mod it is a great work. It really makes the X universe feel fresh again and I like the vision behind the changes and how they change the way the game is played. It all comes together so nicely i'd never think it was a mod but came straight out of egosoft studio's :).

I am still in the early stages of my game. I have a small plex in Argon Prime with shield/mosquito en firelance missile production and some mk3 traders going around. Just got my first TL (Orca's look great!) and intending to work trough some of those 10m payout station missions. I am working towards getting that H. Hydra personal ship although I am getting a lot of mileage out of the M6 provided at OTAS employee start. After upgrading the weapons to 8 Ion Pulse Generators, learning the ctrl-boresight aim trick earlier in this topic and equipping a few Cyclone missiles anything M6 and below doesn't stand a chance :D. Planning to get some more complexes up and running and and looking forward to experimenting with some open loop complexes and CLS/CAG traders. Should be a interesting venture in the XRM universe and will require me to start working on a combat fleet in the near future as well.

Keep up the good work!

I am sure if you wait a bit Paul will get some alternative hosting arrangements made.
They are hosted by The X Universe... Anyone know whats going on with their servers?

I'd rather wait for them to come back up than reupload to a new host.... As long as they don't take too long to fix the problem.
This is quite annoying since it has been down for a couple of days now. Is there something else that can used besides the ingame encyclopedia to make ship comparisons :?:

I can't download the files for XRM from the link provided on the first page of this thread. It gives me a message saying "this site is temporarily unavailable". And I AM NOT going to wade through 1700+ pages of this thread to try and find a working link!

If you'd read the last one or two pages, you'd see that there is a server issue with X Universe, not under the control of XRM creator/dev. As the dev already stated (again, only a page or two back), if the X Universe forum people don't fix the problem soon, then this mod will likely get hosted elsewhere.

Really tired of people who only read the OP, find a problem, and post a complaint without reading any of even the most recent posts.

I can't download the files for XRM from the link provided on the first page of this thread either. also the new xrm forum at http://strikingsoftware.com is currently unreachable.

Amazing large thread and numerous views btw paulwheeler. It must require a great deal of patience among other things to support this popular mod.

If it is deemed appropriate to change upload host or add a mirror I would like to recommend http://nexusmods.com as a good modding site that would be happy to host this and other x3 Terran conflict / Albion Prelude mods. Their x3 section is currently named "X3: Terran Conflict" and contains 5 files uploaded by one ubuntufreakdragon.

Anyway, nexus has been around for more than a decade, they started out as a tes morrowind modding site and is mainly hosting mods for bethesda tes and fallout games. They added sections for a bunch of other games a few years back.

U can get em to change the section title to include albion prelude.

You do understand that acting as if the developer of this mod owes you anything, especially when he gives you something for free, is *extremely* rude, right?

Maybe once the mod comes back up, making a torrent for the download. I definitely want this mod, a lot of hard work and a great piece of work.

Interestingly, only the Xtended torrent download is hosted on the X Universe servers. The direct download is elsewhere...

Can someone check if the X Universe forums are still up (its a different server)? I can't access their site from work. If so is there any mention of server problems?

Looks like I may need to look at an alternative host...

OK - here's some temporary links on my own hosting server. Note - I have limited bandwidth so I may need to take these down if there are too many downloads. If X Universe doesn't come back in the next few days I'll source a new permanent home.

--Temporary Download Links--

Sorry - bandwidth is now all used up.

Can anyone help with hosting?

Thanks Paul. Great support as always.
Is it possible to provide a mirror to the ship statistics as well?

I apologize, I did not intend to come across as rude or demanding, simply trying to emphasize my disinclination to wade through thousands of pages to try and find the tidbit of information I was looking for. The search feature on this forums sucks, so I thought I would just ask the question and wait for a reply.

In retrospect, I should have read at least the last couple pages! I probably should have added a smiley face after my comment about not wading through the whole thread to find the link I guess! :)

Zanzal's - [SCR] Ship Browser - In Game Ship Comparison Tool - great tool I'm using it for some quite time. If you want you can make it with spoiler mode - all ships can be browsed, or without it - you can browsed only ship that you encounter in game.

This is a great alternative! Thanks for your suggestion.

Hi Paul. Quick question. Do the races in XRM make use of ships by whats under thier race in the tships file or do they use them by ID from a script or something somewhere? Reason I ask is because Im trying to get the races to use custom ships, and im wondering if simply putting them into the tships file under that race will be good enough, or would i have to add that ship to the end of the id list and do something else?

The XRM spawns ships using the jobs engine. This utilises race, class and variant to spawn ships. You would need to allocate an unused variant to your ship and then alter jobs as well to call this variant. However, you can only have one ship on each variant and the XRM pretty much already exhausts the available variants in the fighter classes. Alternatively you can force a job to call a ship by ID, but then this job will only spawn this ship.

Thanks, very much appreciated! However, is there a chance we could get the XRM maps as well? I've been using a generic map for the "vanilla" AP, and every now & then the differences kinda throw me off. :S
Thanks again!

Sorry guys I've had to remove the temporary links - you've killed my bandwidth!

Can anyone help with hosting? The free file hosting services are not really ideal for a mod with so many large files... I really need a host that I can ftp to with decent bandwidth limits.

Main links are back up.

Unfortunately, the XRM forum isn't because of my bandwidth limit being exceeded.... :headbang:

Hi,

my game crashed after I installed XRM.
I just followed the instructions in the installation guide.
I use the Steam version of X3: AP (version 3.1).

After the intro the game crashes.
This is the message:

These kind of crashes are usually caused by installing the XRM to the base TC install and then running AP. Please re-read the install instructions and ensure that the appropriate parts go into the addon folder.

Also, ensure that the base TC install is clean with no mods installed.
