Myself and many others have used PG with the XRM with no problems. If youre getting invisible ships, that would suggest a problem with your XRM installation. Do you see a lot of Mammothsflying around? Any other invisible ships? Lots of Argon Equipment Docks everywhere?Okkim wrote:Anyone else using pirate guild with xrm? I have read that it is compatible with xrm though I have a couple of issues with it.
For some reason jumping to loomanckstrat and acquisition repository cause my game to crash. Disabling and enabling pirate guild seems to solve the issue for now.
Some mob bosses share same ship id and name in different systems and when you target one and use your map to look at another system where there is identical mob boss the map shows that you have also targeted that ship.
PG also places some mob bosses at the center of system that you can see on the map but they have no models and they can't be targeted.

Looking around other 'Unknown'-owned systems, it still seems the Khaak just really like this one. Or maybe for some reason the other races have um... not really 'defended' the others, but attacked the attacks, while I wasn't looking. I guess if there's nothing special about it though, it's probably just chance or something about the way the game chooses these things, rather than something related to XRM.Sairaf wrote:Maybe because there is no resistance. Kha'ak like screwing around the X-Universe, as there seems to be a Cluster in almost every sector.LameFox wrote:
But is there a reason the Khaak like it so much? I haven't seen them focus so much on any of the other Unknowns I've come across. Or maybe it's just coincidence, I'm not really sure how they decide what places to attack.
Also, the racer's base in Freedom's reach was okay. As was a pirate base in Xi for reasons I can't explain (the Khaak had two corvettes and a TM there, and the shields were shot a little, but they didn't seem to be making much effort to actually kill it) but I killed all the Khaak there again and I suppose I'll just keep going back.
In other news, if you capture a Khaak corvette (helpfully named 'Corvette') it seems nobody wants to buy it. So now I have a universe trader who flies a Khaak corvette.

Hi,
just got AP installed (steam) and XRM (all 3 parts).
No other mods running, Plugin Manager installed.
I noticed that in some sectors, factories have invalid names (coordinate-like names are displayed in the sector map).
Did I miss a script or something ? Did anyone else already encounter
this issue ?

You have not installed the xrm correctly. Please post a screenshot of your installation folder and ill try and help. I suspect you have not copied the scripts from the "scripts_ap" folder in part 2 into your "addon/scripts" folder in your x3 installation. Youll need to restart your game once you fix this.

Hi guys, just got round to installing and trying the XRM mod. So far I like what I see, but I've noticed that I cannot seem to dock at any regular stations in any of the smaller ships. Any big stations that Capitals can typically dock at like Shipyards, Military Outposts and such are fine. But anything else, I just don't have the option to dock and attempting to autodock just gets 'docking denied'.
Its NOT a reputation issue, I've tried this on several of the different game starts with the same result. I've also attempted a clean install of AP, installing XRM, then 2 of the suggested addons (Background and Docking ware size) and then a couple of Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek ships
Any help appreciated

Well, since I merely change the scene file of one of the many "zzzPLACEHOLDER"s, no docks are broken. Thanks for that info, I'll try it out and see if it works.paulwheeler wrote:You need to merge the entries in components and dummies (iirc) in addition to the tships entries to get turrets working. I suspect xsp ships use custom weapon dummies - this explains why it breaks the xrm docks when you install them.
Also, is it just me, or does Albion Prelude really crashes when minimized (except for the title screen)?
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems that I only need to click a lot and it returns.

Trouble with Rebalance Mod
So I spent over an hour reading through all the information about the Rebalance mod and how to go about getting it installed.
I started with a brand new, fresh, never before played, installation of Albion Prelude from Steam.
I spent ~20 minutes re-reading the instructions for the 3rd time while following them and putting the files were they needed to go in the addon folder and it's sub directories.
Feeling excited as I finished I ran the game only to the error message "Albion Prelude encountered a problem and must close" within the first few seconds (before even getting to a loading screen).
What am I supposed to do? I followed the instructions exactly and made no mistakes...
**EDIT** A bit more info:
Obviously with a fresh install I had no other mods or mod programs/utilities.
I put everything into the "addon" folder listed under the Terran Conflict directory in Steam (even though I've never installed Terran Conflict; guess that's just what it calls it). Made sure files from the certain folders went to their correct folders within the addon directory. Renamed everything correctly including using double digits such a 05.dat as opposed to 5.dat
I didn't mess around with any of the bonus packs like the cockpit mod; I stuck only with the X3 Rebalance files (3 of them that I downloaded) to make sure I could get it working before trying anything else.
I simply don't know what else I could have possibly done...

Sorry wait, you don't have Terren Conflict installed? You need that installed to play AP. AP is an expansion and needs the base game to run.
I'm sure you do have it installed by default but worth checking.

Hi guys,
I'm playing the Terran Commander plot.
I keep talking to Najima Takahasji and keep giving her good advice
(Is there even and end to this ? )
Meanwhile, I float around a bit and perform some kills, here and there until I get a message to report to some admiral in Orbital Defence Station in the Moon.
Thing is: when I get in that sector, there is no Orbital Defence Station
I know from previous games where it is located but I explored the complete sector and found nada .....
Anyone ?

I´ve encountered two bugs meanwhile, i think:
1. A funny one ( well, depends^^ ) - i took a mission for fright scans in Hatikhva´s Faith, did the job, and got "rewarded" about 18m cr. The thing is, the money was actually removed from my account ( i can´t tell exactly how much, because i had marine repairing my Tern, but i saved shortly before, so from having 105m. i still had about 75m. left...
2. This one was a bad one; i´ve boarded the Paranid flagship "Unholy smth."( in Claritys End ) but it kept moving towards "east gate" ( Third Redemption, iirc ) despite me changing the orders several times, jumping it around etc. Finaly, when i decided to jump to it and change the ships to fly it manualy, the game had a freeze ( tried it couple of times, with the same result ).
I removed all the wares from it, and destroyed it via cheat script ( didn´t want to clone it not to provoke another glitch ).
I was looking for that "script killer" tool, but couldn´t find it, so i did what i did, to save the time, and trouble.
BTW: any thought about the M8/M7 thingy? @ paul
I´d volonteer for alpha testing, if you´ve got no time to do it yourself

Last night I uninstalled AP and reinstalled because I couldn't get it to work after trying to install the XRM. Although after uninstalling it didn't remove the "addon" folder so I manually deleted the entire folder before reinstalling the game (reinstalling returned it to it's default). After reinstalling the game it worked just fine and I was able to play for several hours.MutantDwarf wrote:Yeah, that shouldn't be the problem - Steam automatically installs TC underneath AP when you install 'just' AP.
Does AP work if you don't install XRM?
This is what my game directory (folder) looks like: http://i.imgur.com/KfyW8MP.jpg
That is for a fresh install of AP (I don't have Terran Conflict installed). I know the folder is called "Terran Conflict" but I repeat, I do NOT have TC installed.
When I installed the mod I followed the instructions:
I downloaded the 3 files for XRM and unzipped all 3 into a separate folder located on my desktop. I then began to transfer the files to my "addon" folder as follows:
I retitled the XRM1.30_PART_1/2.cat files to 05.cat and 06.cat and transferred them to the addon folder. I retitled the XRM1.30_PART_1/2.dat files to 05.dat and 06.dat and transferred them to the addon folder.
I created a folder in the addon directory titled "director" since it didn't already have one. I copied the contents of the director folder over to that folder.
I copied the contents of the loadscr, sprints_AP, t, mov, and soundtrack folders all to their respective folders within the addon directory. I replaced any existing files with the new ones if they had the same names.
The last thing I did was delete the 00044 file within the \mov folder because the instructions said to do that.
So that wrapped up the instructions and all the files where where they were supposed to go. I launched the game and got the initial hardware/graphics setup screen. Everything on it looked go so I hit "launch" and after about 1 second of a black screen I got the error message "program has encountered a problem and must close". I tried to launch the game several times and they all failed.
So what did I do wrong?
**EDIT** To clarify, I put ALL of the XRM files into the "addon" directory or the folders within the "addon" directory. Was this perhaps what I did wrong? The instructions say to do it all in the addon directory for Albion Prelude.
**EDIT2** There is also an X3 crash log that was created which says the following:
Crash event occurred on Sun Oct 27 21:16:19 2013
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict\x3ap.exe
The exception "Access violation" (0xc0000005) was caused at address 001b:004f68cd
Process owned by user: redacted
Story call stack dump:
[000000]->[017921]#101[101].Graphics_DoScenery()
and then it lists a massive amount of blocked numbers and characters under the title "Stack dump".
**EDIT3** - What I meant by not having TC installed is just that. If I go to my steam games library I am not allowed to "play" TC. I have to "install" it first. So what I guess is that by installing AP it automatically installs most of the game files from TC in order to run but might leave a few things out?
I'm reluctant to keep messing around with installs without a definitive answer because I have a 250gb download limit on my internet (and I have roomates) and all these fresh installs will really bite into that.

I don't see a \TC\Addon\Director folder in your screenshot, if you did create that folder then make sure it's in the right place and not buried in another sub-folder, that might explain the crash.
EDIT: Also, if you want to limit the number of times you need to re-download the game then just copy the entire Terran Conflict game folder somewhere else (when you first download it) as a backup then when you need a new vanilla version to fix a botched MOD install or prep the game for a new MOD just delete the Steam version and copy your backup back and do a Steam verify to make sure it's up-to-date and you're good to go in no time at all with little to no downloading needed.

Update:Feedback I've been using this for a while now with the above setup and it works just fine with no problems displaying/omitting messages, quite useful for un-cluttering the message log...thanks.Reido wrote:I'll give this a try, currently running XRM v1.29d installed on AP 3.0 (nosSteam EXE).Quinch wrote:I played around a bit with the bounty scripts and made an adjustment or two - the military network menu has two more options, to turn in and out-of-sector bounty messages on or off.
It seems to be working so far, but if anyone else feels like field-testing it, I could always use the feedback.
