I did not add anything more.

In the meantime, I believe its only the XRM added starts that cause this, so if you select a vanilla start for now, it should function OK.

Alternatively, if you open the XRM part 2 cat/dat in X3 Editor 2, delete the images with a ".pck" file extension in "addon\L\true". These are the offending gamestart images and should stop the crashes - DO NOT DELETE "gamestarts.pck".
I haven't tested this on Mac (I don't own one), but I think that the Linux patch is also required for the Mac version of AP. I have fixed the game start issue with the Linux patch.

Please install the Linux patch and try again.

The PHQ is not from the main vanilla Argon plot - it is a separate plot that is available in the XRM.

However, you can also buy the PHQ in the XRM.

Sadly getting a crash when starting a new game under Argon Peacekeeper as of the latest patch.

Crash loading old saves too. Don't understand how the relatively small fixes in 3.1 clash so much with the XRM... :(

Patch 3.1 adds new files cat/dat, number 04. They overwrite the files cat / dates XRM. After installation, you must install the patch 3.1 XRM from scratch or before the update patch 3.1 for a while to remove all the files cat / dates with numbers higher than 03

doesn't that look better? :)

i would however, suggest not to update XRM until paul says it's ok.

I see. It did overwrite my Immersive enviroments cat/dat. So that is (possibly) why it didnt crash for me.

OK... Why have Egosoft suddenly gone back to adding new cat/dats for updates...?

Anyway, I won't get time to properly check till tomorrow, but looking at the changelog, I see nothing there that should cause a problem.

So just shift all your cat/dats up one number to make way for the new 04 cat/dat and you should be good to go.

If youve already upgraded and your game is crashing, then youve probably lost the xrm part 1 cat/dat. Redownload it, renumber your cat/dats to make a space at 05.cat/dat and reinsert the part 1 cat/dat.





EDIT 2 - the only conflicts are mdfiles and playercorp md files - these are only minor fixes so won't really cause any problems.



You are all safe to update... but...

You won't see any of the fixes for the Corporation Troubles plot until I release an update - probably won't cause you any real problems.



However, Steam is currently playing up for me so I can't update AP to 3.1... I keep getting "can't connect to steam network" all of sudden... So bear with me....


JUST PLEASE REMEMBER TO MAKE SPACE FOR THE NEW CAT/DAT BEFORE YOU ALLOW STEAM TO UPGRADE AP.

Is there a way to autmatically make ships reapir other ships in a Wing?
I keep getting a few damaged ships in my Wing Patrols and it is a tedious work to repair each one of them on their own.

You could assign them to a TM or M1, load the carrier with marines, and use the marine repairs script. That's what I do.
The worst part about deep-space exploration is listening to crappy radio stations from 930 years ago.

Remote automatic repairing via maintenance pods is coming in v1.30 (thanks to a script from Bullwinkle).

Still can´t fly to Argon Prime and guess what... Kingdom End joins the list! :evil:

I noticied some ships appear as Argon Escort Readtext-007, has this something to do with my problems?

On another note, I want a player ship that has the folowing features:

- 3000 or more cargo space (default or upgradeable)
- 200 speed (more or less)
- can install Cargo Lifesupport System
- Uses 25 MJ shields or more

What do you recommend?

Was going to buy my first Ore Mine and start making money but since I can´t go to Argon Prime, there is no way for me to hire a Supply Mammoth. :evil:

That readtext error means you have a problem with your installation, which is probably what is causing the crash. I suspect you have not copied the scripts from the "scripts_ap" folder in part 2 into the "addon/scripts" folder. Youll need to restart your game once you fix this.

The only ship that comes close to your description is the Hyperion, or maybe the True Light Seeker but I can't remember its cargo space. There may be a split cargo ship also but again I can't remember.

I also have seen a Terran cartography Mammont - guess a ship can´t be loaded from XRM T-ships, but i have no issues with any other Terran ships at all.
Normaly i avoid Terran space, and i haven´t had this kind of issues so far for a very long time, but there was this 3.0 update, so, who knows.

Btw: took a look at an Adv.Chimera, just to find out that the ship has lost agility vs. the standard version, gaining speed, and WRR or smth. - i understand, those values are important too, but steering is a very significant thing for fighters + the adv. version doesn´t get any add. shields like most adv. versions of other races do.

Actually, only M6 class ships would fit your description, but 3k cargo is smth. that only the TLS has. Goner Ranger or Crusader are close, but have fare less cargohold ( but XL cargospace, beeing a fighter! ), and the Hyperion/Appalox have only smth. about 2-2.5k.

Before you ask where to get the TLS - go to the Goner sector north from Nikonofune, which is the Boron sector in the south-west part of the map, there is a Goner shipyard. Or hack/board one, of course

No idea whats caused that message problem, but no scripts in the XRM send messages in that format so its not an XRM problem.

The cartography Mammoth is not a TShips or jobs problem. Its a mission problem - cartography ships are spawned for all races by the mission director. For some reason its not reading the XRM SRST (the file that determines what ships can spawn in missions) properly. I know its not a problem with my SRST because all other Terran missions are fine. Its a strange one that I've never got to the bottom of. Without deconstructing the mission script that spawns the cartography ships, it'll be a difficult one to fix. Since its only ever once in a blue moon that it happens, and someone even said they had it in a vanilla game, its not something I intend to look at.

I start to lose a lot of my trading ships due to random Pirate Events in almost all Systems, even those not near Pirate space. I have quite some Gates protected by Laser Towers but that does not seem to be enough. How can I prevent losing CAGs and UTs (even in fully equipped Mistrals Super Freighters) against Pirates? I tried destroying Pirate Stations with a Cyclops but that ship wasn't nearly strong enough to kill it.

Honestly, the best way to protect them is to get in good with the Pirates, then you won't have them to deal with.

You can try the MK3 sector blacklist mod.

More lasertowers? When I get later in a game I can sometimes have about 600-1000 in a game.

There is also the OK Traders script which is very good for getting out of bad situations. I've lost about 3 ships out of 60 in 8 days of gameplay. Some could see it as too much easy money however because it is very good at getting you money. I just see it as an alternative to CAG and MK3 traders all rolled into one.
