Yeah and there's still a million things that need fixing. They should fix gameplay elements and "features" before adding new things.
your completely right, minor updates will only fix bugs and major updates might not add features but have the ability to overhaul a part of the game that is broken beyond just bug fixing. kinda like the highway system.
and what im asking for, is a overhauling the economy in the game witch would take a major update to do so. at this point the only thing minor updates can do fix the bugs that are messing with the economy.

IMO
I would love an economy overhaul but there is just too much wrong with it at the fundamental level to be able to do anything without patching the bugs first. They haven't even started fixing stations and trade. If they can fix the basic issues with trade it will be a good start. Then the AI: station managers, resource management, automated trading, NPC faction economies etc. Then they'll probably need some resource sinks like civilian consumers and NPC faction complexes or something. After those basic things are fixed, an economy overhaul is the next logical step.
Current experiments with watching ai economy in action, it's mostly shipyards that cause an issue - even when the yards are paid for the resource sink ships being built at the approximately the same price players pay for the ship build (cost of materials * 2, using average material prices for the faked sale). I'm horribly aware of the current bugs in trading but once this huge leakage from shipyards is settled the system is actually quite well balanced in vanilla station setup while still allowing room for the player to make profit stations (as long as the player makes wise choices of course at the start of the empire).
Initially I see HoA dropping about 100mill per hour in the first few hours of the a game start. I'm running a new test game in the hope that this settles a bit over the 24 hour mark as the purchase of materials slows down. The other shipyard owning factions also lose money in the initial hours but at a much lesser rate as they have other profits to pad the loss. RoC isn't considered at this stage as without mods or intervention it wont be able to buy many materials. I'm certain the bug that lets managers sell resources on at less than the purchase price concurrently offered on shipyards is compounding this issue.

Hope they dont wait with asset control until all bugs are fixed.
There even would be more options for player to get around bugs, if they could influence how trade is managed.
And that would give a purpose to building stations, as we could feed our fab/ship production with it.

that was good and all. and im pretty sure all the smart people that make up the community understood what you said.
but im kinda handicapped and would love it if you could explain in a simple way, so a r tard like me could understand it. thank you.
i didnt understand why the shipyard are causing issues?
Sounds like a Mystic Meg prediction... New Patch will be released when a Blue Car with a driver who's birthday is April the 5th drives past Egosoft studios!

@mohammadm - basically the shipyard should buy the resources it needs and keep them. What actually happens is it buys them for say +14% and can sell them at the same time for say -2%. Great easy profit for a player that spots it, but totally useless for a balanced economy.

You people of Ego can't tell us what's in the patch, nor when it will be release, BUT!! You may can tell us about your feelings working/playing on it...??
We do pancakes the same way in UK Or at least we do in my house. Well, now we have a codename for the new patch - X Rebirth Palačinka. It has a nice ring to it.
