I've heard that people tend to find it annoying. I don't have much of an opinion on the matter, as I really haven't played X3 since I added that sound. I can actually take a look at making a different sound :)

I emailed him about 10 minutes ago to let him know.

it's a joke, but it would be awesome, maybe he'd even allow it
shame, your soundtracks have always given more awesome to this mod.
That would be pretty awesome, but probably not game-appropriate :D

Thanks, I appreciate the comment. I'm glad to be part of the mod in that way.

I've literally been hitting refresh every hour to see if version 1.29 is up yet, but the forums have been offline (as I'm sure you know). Is there any update on when the new version will be ready?

Thanks.

Speaking of soundtrack, who is Richard Goulet ? "A Dying Sun" is really great!

(Google says that he's the director of the Dictionary of ancient philosophers, but I highly doubt it :) )

That be me.

Edit: I am NOT the director of the dictionary of ancient philosophers, only the composer of the xrm soundtracks.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I don't mean to bug, but do you know roughly what time that will be around? I ask because I live in America and it's only 5PM here, so I'm 6 hours behind the forum local time. I'm wondering if I should check again before I go to bed (and stay up all night playing 1.29! haha).

Thanks again.

It's as if someone doesn't want this mod to be released. Hmmmm... the plot thickens.

Well, congrats sir ! You should listen to this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xecHiFIdQtk

I'm pretty sure you'll love it. I often listen to this just before Dying Sun.

I'll check it out when I get the chance. My track was largely influenced by the Tron soundtrack by Daft Punk

It'll be worth the wait. I lost my X3TC install awhile back when my hard drive died, but I had XRM installed and enjoyed it a lot.

Just picked up X3AP not too long ago, but it's 3.0 and I've been waiting for the update before starting a game.

Just getting back into X3AP after the 3.0 update, great to see XRM being updated so swiftly!

X3 Rebalance Mod v1.29
----------------------------

Update for TC and AP users.

Albion Prelude must be updated to v3.0 BEFORE running the update patch.

Note - the Steam update will put back the 00044 file into your addon\mov folder. Please remove it before loading X3.

If continuing a 1.28 XRM save it is essential that you follow the update instructions below.

!!PLEASE READ THE PATCH INSTRUCTIONS!!

COMPONENTS THAT REQUIRE UPDATING:

XRM Part 1
XRM Part 2
XRM Part 3
Hull Packs
Backgrounds Pack
Advanced Universe

Please ensure that you recopy all scripts from Part 2 as many have changed. Just copy and paste them into your "scripts" folder overwriting the originals.
AP Users - copy scripts from the folder "scripts_AP" to "addon\scripts"
TC Users - copy scripts from the folder "scripts_TC" to "scripts"

Ensure you update XRMINST.xml in your director folder

SHIPS THAT REQUIRE CLONING:
If continuing a save game

Mistral
Griffon

SHIPS THAT MUST NOT BE IN SECTOR DURING UPGRADE:
If continuing a save game

Griffon

Changelog:

Fixed - Mistral reversed cargo sizes
Fixed - Broken external dock on Griffon
Fixed - Aquilo cargo reduction and price increase
Fixed - Skirnir price increase
Fixed - I/Z price disparity (AP)
Fixed - No war pack terran/commonwelth reps set to neutral (AP)
Fixed - Taipan gains weapon energy, recharge rates and rudder

AP3.0 Compatibility:
Fixed - Merged all necessary 3.0 changes into the XRM files
Fixed - Moved conflicting sector "Credits Received" (restart required to see this and thus play one of the new plots)
Added - New ships from AP3.0 renamed to Mercury Sentinel, Cheetah (acinonyx), Komodo (pteranodon)
Added - New ships added to shipyards except Cheetah, which is only available through the plot or at a research station

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS IF CONTINUING A V1.28 XRM GAME - BOTH TC AND AP
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please follow these instructions to fully benefit from all the above fixes in a continuing game.

- Update all XRM components required

- Load your save.

- If not already enabled, enable the script editor (change pilot name to "Thereshallbewings")

If running Albion Prelude:

- Open the script editor and scroll down to the following script: "temp.xrm.1.28to1.29patch.AP".

- Hit "r" then enter twice to run the script

If running Terran Conflict:

- There is no patch to run for TC

A new game does not require these patches to be run.

NOTES:-

All of the new AP3.0 plots are playable if you start a new game. The Breaking Ground plot is not playable if you continue your existing plot due to the sector conflict - the other two plots are playable.

XRM Naming Changes:

Pteranodon -> Komodo
Acinonyx Prototype -> Cheetah
Lotan -> Mercury Sentinel

Due to the XRM "ethos", the main guns have been removed from the Komodo (vanilla pteranodon). Instead you get two front turrets with 12 guns in each!

Although the update alters the no war addon pack, the scripts altered are all found in the main release, so all you need to do is run the update patch - no need to redownload the pack.

As the Cheetah (vanilla acinonyx) is a special plot ship, and like the Xperimental Shuttle, it is only available by playing the plot or finding the research station that sells it.

The update patch will destroy the existing Thuruks Research Station, so make sure you don't have anything docked at it before you run the patch.

REGARDING THE AP3.0 PLOTS:

The Breaking Grounds plot from AP3.0 is unavailable in pre-1.29 XRM saves. To play this plot, you must start a new game with XRM v1.29. The other AP3.0 plots (Shady Business and Corporation Troubles) are available in all XRM saves.

The plots are untested with the XRM. I tested that they trigger, but I have not had time to run through the missions. While its unlikely that you'll run into problems as the XRM is based on the vanilla universe, there is always a chance.

So I recommend that you keep a decent spread of saves going back to at least the previous mission. That way, if there is a problem, you can revert to the previous mission and wait for me to fix the mission before you trigger it again.

I believe that some parts of the plot require using the hub, so I am not certain whether they will work correctly with the Advanced Universe pack.

NOTE FOR PEOPLE RUNNING MODS THAT CHANGE CORE XRM FILES

It is ESSENTIAL that you either remove these or wait until they are updated before installing AP3.0 and the XRM 1.29.

IEX users must wait for an update before installing v1.29 as the universe has changed.

I have downloaded 1.29 when you uploaded it yesterday and have been playing for quite a few hours. Now I see there is also XRM1.29_PART_2.zip uploaded this morning :( Do you think I can continue my game even when I started it in a "hybrid" XRM ?
