I suspect you have installed the bounce cat/dat? This is purely for the creation of a wall file and should be removed after - this will cause what you are seeing (you'll need to restart your game)
Hey, Paul. First off, I want to thank you for working on this amazing mod! I played well over 100 hours on version 1.26, but I haven't played in months and I want to get back into it.
I just redownloaded X3:AP from Steam and saw that they released version 3.0. I've been reading through all of these recent posts and I see that you're going to release 1.29 soon. My question is:
Since I'm starting a completely new game, will everything work correctly if I use the latest XRM version, or should I wait a little longer for your 1.29?

From page one:
IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING THE IMPENDING RELEASE OF AP 3.0 - The XRM v1.28 will not be compatible with AP 3.0 on its release. Therefore it is vital that you take steps to ensure Steam will not automatically update your XRM:AP installation until I release the next XRM patch. I will endeavour to release the compatibility update as soon as possible once the final release of AP 3.0 is available.
...I'll wait...

Yeah, I saw that of course lol The way these recent posts have been going, however, people are making it sound like everything is working correctly if they start a new game.
I'm quite new at X3, having played Reunion only a little bit. I'm currently downloading Albion Prelude from the App Store, and I found out that AP is a standalone on Mac but an extension on PC: is it still possible to use XRB on the Mac version? Thanks in advance!
Ps: yes, I know I will have to wait for XRB to be made compatible with AP3.
Transgaming, not Egosoft, handles updates to the X3 games on the Mac, and it may take them some time to release AP3.0. They're not always punctual. The version on the App Store is currently 2.5.1.
You'll want XRM 1.28, until the update comes through. Look for the 'Ultimate Guide to Modding on the Mac' thread, if you have trouble finding the data directory.

Drats, I hadn't even thought of that. Guess I might as well start a campaign with XRM 1.28. Thanks for the advice!

@gilboa: what is your weapons layout when you pilot a Hyperion? From my experience, the PPG are too slow for the fighters, and somehow fire very "unstable" in salvos beeing main guns; the HEPT, on the other side, is way to weak to take down larger ships ( including a PX ), and FBL don´t seem to be able to hit anything at all.... ( i remember using them as main guns in a Blastclaw Prototype in dogfights against M3 fighters, but that weapon was too slow(firing) against anything smaller. Just curious.
As far as I remember, I'm using a combination of PPG and FBL on the front, FBL and HEPT on turrets.
Taking an fast M5 with the main guns is rather challenging, so I usually wait for them to target me head on, but M4's and M3's are usually easy pickings due to the Hyperion speed.

And you did NOT save the game, or are currently playing the game, with the bounce cat/dats installed?
Yes I saved the game.... however in my haste to start playing again I overlooked the fact I had to remove the cat/dat and that was the problem so it appears... You were spot on thanks for the help
Its good info but theres no way to sort only lets say M3 class ships nor is there a way to sort thru ships by shield-gen power or a "max shield power in MJs"
EDIT: since theres an update coming, will we be seeing the Windstalker and Wildfire missile-factories.
One being plain awasome, other being by far the best in range, neighter can be made by the player...
Do you have any plan to increase the range of satellites scanner to be on par with military scan?
Otherwise I will gladly do it myself (and if someone could tell me what tfile I should edit, it will be perfect).
I think Paul is now thinking tomorrow, due to having a life. I've been trying to tweak a new ship name too (during our holiday weekend) for the update. I'm good(ish) to go on my end.
The worst part about deep-space exploration is listening to crappy radio stations from 930 years ago.
I've got the check code from Dillpickle now, but I've still got to drop it into the plot and also change a couple of other plot code issues to make it run fine with the XRM - nothing major though. There's also a bit of balancing still to do with the new ships and a few universe changes.
Please be aware that I don't have time to play through the plot, so I strongly recommend that people keep lots of saves going back before each mission in case there are problems and you need to revert to before that mission cue is started.
Regarding the new ships - They appear to be plot rewards, but the XRM has a history of allowing access to plot ships. So I am going to add them to shipyards for sale anyway. Anyone particularly against this? I do hate forcing people to play the plots just to access certain ships.

Regarding the ships:

The new m6 is given to the player during the plot that's true. It's supposed to be built with new technology so to keep it's flavor it should be best to have it available only at "special" shipyards.
One can get a free blueprint of the m2 if allied with strong arms but the ship is sold at various split shipyards.
Same for the new TS (except you'll find it at argon shipyards).
Speaking about sound improvements I'd delicately suggest to change this 'whoop' sound of incoming missile. When there's bunhc of missile coming at you theres whoop whoop symphony playing. Very annoying sound, maybe something less distracting and more discrete instead?
