I don't get what you mean about downloads? I'm downloading from US servers on Steam from the other side of the world and getting around 800KB/s (or at least, I was). Steam is only by download, and it's from the same network of servers worldwide.
On another note, if you've got no use for the shiny new monitor and video card now, let me know. I'm happy to take them off your hands
1. Steam unlock early, while my wife is out (preload finished 2 days ago).
2. She's out tonight (going to leave work early).
3. She's away tomorrow.
4. My rig plays like a dream (Q6600, GTX260, 4GB Ram, 22' Sumsung mon)
Just got home from work, and found a note from postman saying basically nobody at home need a signature packet taken back to office.
So I look at the note and it says that the office is closed at 12.30pm, the time now being 12.27pm, so fortunately the depot is just round the corner from me and a zoom round there in the car. Bugger depot closed but I spies a postman coming from around the back of the depot where they park the vans. So I head round there hoping to speak to somebody who realises the seriousness of my plight. Result.. after much pleading they agree to get the packet for me this once.
And would you believe after all that it turns out to a parcel the wife ordered on my credit card some stupid perfume.
Damn you play I preorder so I can at least get the game on the day its released. Ah well theres always tomorrow am off to sulk for 24 hours now..

I feel for you. A veritable emotional rollercoaster
I still have my fingers crossed for tomorrow after charging down the stairs on hearing the doorbell about 2 hours ago only to find it was the bloody Jehovas Witnesses (no offence to any Jehovas Witnesses on the site)

Really sorry about that, I feel your pain... But the way you narrate it is just so hilarious...
My copy arrived this morning at work so just been home to install it, 40 mins late (why did i tick movies to hdd!) it finished installing then patched.
In short I got to load the game and dock
So now I have 4 hours more of very productive office work reading the manual
B*gger B*gger and thrice b*gger. The post delivery person has just been at 1:30pm. Don't get me started on the state of Royal mail and remember when the post would arrive when you were eating breakfast not lunch.
Anyways... my copy wasn't there! So much for special delivery arriving the next day!
Shade_Phoenix_XII wrote:I want the game now... how big is the game if i download from steam?
The game files are 7.1 GB. People are saying that the download is just over 3GB, but I believe there is a bug in Steam's download manager and it's always reading half. I'd expect a download of around 6.5 - 7 GB.

You lucky man, heres hoping that play and the postoffice come through tomorrow otherwise I'll be playing world of goo for the weekend.
P.S allthough i'd rather be playing X3-TC World of Goo tis rather fun
Got mine from amazon today. Been reading some of the manual and I'm impressed with what I've read so far. Not going to install it just yet....still playing X3:R with the XTM mod and there are a few things I want to do with that game first before I migrate over to the new one, because if I start playing TC now, I'll probably never leave it alone.

Ouch. After all that effort you deserve your copy! Play have let me down as well. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
I mean, just because I got back very late to work at lunchtime after having to go to the post office depot to collect....
damn it was those music CD's I ordered not X3:TC !,
doesn't mean I'm chafing at the bit. (Oh yes it does)
After I missed a train from uni I decided to stop by at an electronic store, I think it's the main/biggest one there in Frankfurt.
Guess what? It wasn't there. What a bummer. :/
Well, I didn't have enough money with me anyway, but still - it's always like that with games. I never actually saw a game I want in stores on the actual release date.
