BTW LV. I am trying to confirm the following: After uninstalling the plugin I noticed that the ware graphic for Sunrise Flowers and Swamp Plant are not there. Now the problem is I'm not to sure if they were there anyway . There was also one missing from the Argon Trading Stations...can't remember which one, and again not sure if thats there originally or not.
The plugin started OK because I could see the companies that it set up in my message board. I am just wondering that when I un-installed, if these companies had bought the wares I mention would it be possible that the un-install removed the graphics for them? The audio description is intact as well as text description etc. Its just the graphic.....and thats if they are present in the game anyway!

Hmm - all that does is prove how many geeky little losers there are who are more concerned with a precious deadline rather than something working properly ...reminds me of the ho-ha surounding Vista all because MS actually took the time to get something actually worth releasing, and I'm sure the pathetic trend will continue to pop up.
I'm sure LV will release a much improved version of this script package when he has the time to get it working as it should. If ppl can't wait without a whole heap of carry on, maybe they should have a go at writing such a set of scripts ....I'm sure we'll all have a good giggle at their failure!!
You know... I don't think I have seen so much work put in by a dedicated forum society as this one! Its' just great! The imagination and hard work that the people do here ....FOR NOTHING....is amazing! Not being a modder myself I feel quite the leach and am very gratefull for people like LV.

P.S. I was thinking of adding RsWe (Rename Ships With Expressions), which I understand allows for colour coding as well. Now the question is: Would this conflict with your colour coding of the AL Competitors and (as it has an affect) RRF? If it does I won't do it

i´m one of the german x3 players and i love this script so please work on a new version. one thing your t files (7000) are also in use by x3plus....
well maybe x3plus should have checked the library have you any idea how many of my scripts use the 7000 xml
things are getting better but i still have alot of balancing for the ALC RRF as i'm getting too many battles and also the captured code. Were prob looking at at least a month before i can offer anything to the forum in beta format currently

Many, at least in my universe.
I have changed for mine personally use the entries on 9999 (unused).
In addition, I have fixed this if I more than 2,000,000,000 Cr. Empire value has the ALC's with less than nothing start.
AND I have the provide of race from 1 to 3 "prohibited".
Up to now no problems and also no rank or notoriety losses.
ok the 7000 issue aside for now my estmate for 1 month looks to be better than expected after getting 4 hrs yesterday morning to recode after a moment of epiphamy sorting a big issue out (until the missus demanded my presence and I came back to my desktop, i go mad explaining i'm working she see's me as playing a game )
I'm now able to start looking at eye candy stuff again while i finish testing.
I need a few bbs messages in relation to tensions between races and skirmishes breaking out to display once the ALC's kick off between each other and other normal races. also notoriety hack messages.
I can never be arsed writing this stuff so if any of you have the time and motivation please dump some text in this thread for me to convert into bbs entries

Wait already tensely for the new version of the ALC's.
LV, the previous AI Competitor script would create 5 "AI" players, of random race. They could be any of the main 5, or the "unknown 3" races.
Would it be possible for ;
1. You to have the option to create <x> AI players,
2. For those <x> players to be whatever race you want them to be.
That way, I could get the script to create 3 AI players, of "Race1", "Race2", and "Race3" - that way if/when I decide to have war with them, I'm not going to kill my good rep with the existing 5 Races.?
How cool would it be, for those AI players, to then as they get bigger, to take over a sector using Nirwin's Sector Takeover Script, and then build up their own sectors!
I understand it may already be too late, or too complicated for this to happen, but even if its just an idea for the next release? By combining your script with Nirwin's Sector Takeover, I think this would be a high rating script no problem!
OK I will do some bbs for you if you can give me an idea of what/where you see your script going. Just some sort of outline.
i.e. How do you see the tension rising between the ALC and races.. Just an idea and I'll type some stuff. Also on the notoriety, do you plan to fix it like you have in RRF or is it more basic?

The messages should just refer to tensions and conflicts breaking out between $race and $race in $sector with plenty of bs wrapping it up.
It doesn't really matter how i see tensions rising as my current alpha does it all itself. I've just watched the Moggy2 Empire get wiped out by the argon after a few stray shots hit an argon carrier so i'm currently playing about with watering it down some as with RRF installed it's a bloodbath as the ALC's respond to their own stuff being attacked with a cutdown version of RRF (although they will have jump out if in danger capabilities).
My coding will be more around controlling it and reverts relations back to neutral or the ALC's won't last long now I have removed the normal races from being created.
This means some bbs fluff over diplomatic relations being re-installed are in order also
would love to have this in my game! maybe wage a war with the competitors, capture their ships, destory their factories for my company's *ehem* profit! this is a very exciting script. great idea LV.
[PINN] - Trouble in the $sectorrace $sectorsecurity.
Conflict between $race1 and $race2 arose once more today in the $sectorrace sector of $sectorname. A devastating skirmish occured after ships from the $race2 's fleet opened fire upon a $randomrace1ship. Shortly thereafter, the $race1 retaliated in kind. Casualties were sustained on both sides, but we have no official numbers at this time. A $randomrace trader in the system had the following comment.
"It was all so sudden. I was just heading for the $randomstationinsector when I heard the comms. I checked my rear vid feed and saw the opening shots. I docked as soon as I safely could, fearing for my safety."

I'm not exactly sure what functions you can pull, nor am I sure of the syntax of how the scripts read for variables, but I think you get the general idea. Let me know what sort of functions you'd be able to pull regarding the skirmishs that occur between the factions. Also, I would like if you'd leave the Pimp Inc. bit intact. (It's a gaming clan/fantasy corporation I run. Long backstory to it, check my site if you really must know). I'd love to do more writing along these lines (done a small bit of programming myself, back in the dinosaur days of BASIC). Some of my ideas for functions that could help improve the variety of these types of 'news reports' would be :
some sort of damage account in terms of credits, along with a way to round it off some. (i.e. damage is estimated to be roughly $damageamount)
Perhaps if it's possible, what exactly provoked the skirmish, i.e. $ship1 shot at $ship2 ? Though if using the RRF script, it may involve digging into that script to find out. :-S
Maybe a duration of the skirmish function? (Lasted $durationh hours and $durationm minutes)?
Let me know what sort of functions/variables I can use in writing. I'll be more than happy to lend my aid, my master.
i'm banging my head at the moment, too much lag and i'm trying to sort it but getting nowhere atm, also scripts not shutting down in the global task no matter how many checks i put in
You'll sort it out. I may be new to this community, but from what reading I've done, I know you're one of the special ones. Like, you have Jedi abilities to write scripts which are, for lack of better wording, awesome.
Really looking forward to the final build of this should be so good.....
has anyone thought of doing the same thing with one of a players ships? ie give one ts a lot of money and just leave it to work building your empire up buying stations for you etc?
