I finally got it ... gotta test it! :)

By the way... what about the mods and scripts compatibility?
I ve got a bunch of mods and scripts (mainly for game complication)
but if I can add another race into the game - that is what I like most in the game!!!!!! :) But does anyone have problems with compatibility???

It currently should have no effect on any other mods or scripts as it uses no command slots.

Version 2.0 will be released soon though which will have command options available.

The ware which will be used is 5933 (62 million credits! :) ) and up to now the only thing that is linked for 2.0 is turret command 23 (EMP Device) which as long as scripters are using the XAI database to add commands used should be fine.

If these commands are used would the writer of the script let me know as i can change em before i go into to much detail :)

Nice work LV -

what about a german lang file ? Or at least make a copy of your english lang file with a 49 lang code, before enycrpting it to pck file. This would be nice- guess lots of german people want to use your banshee pack without having any chance if the lang file is encrypted like yours. - if you need a german translator give me a call.

even i would like to play the whole banshee plot - but i was forced to delete the script pack from my system :heuldoch: :tuichdoch:

The script brought my system down on its knees - baddest framing i ve ever seen playing x2 . Never had slide shows or frezzing for several seconds before.

BIG BIG loading times - looks like kind a freezing .

Even running in background the heavy CPU load affected my pc.

Are there enough waitstates in the script ?

Guess there is much work for you- sorry

What about making in the banshee plot a little smaller with less CPU- Loads ?

I would realy like to play this plot .

PC Data :

1.8 ghz p4 512 ddr ram fx 5600 ultra 256 mb

AND this system works perfect .

After deleting your script....... the old, good performance was back again.

can you offer more details on this, the only issue i've come across in testing is the actual slow loading of the game otherwise unless i was in the banshee homesector i've not had many problems

Sure:

Loading time : something around 5 seconds ! for loading /saving a game even for returning to the main menue.

I made it through the second mission (buy 3324 units of cahoona meatsteaks using version 1.04/ updated the version from 1.03 by overwriting the scripts.

Sector was "Grüne Schuppe" the Teladi sector beyond PNTI HQ

a Xenon invasion happened at the same time.

My game play actually stopped for some seconds after accepting the banshee mission and stayed at this lousy frame rate after finishing the banshee mission and the xenon invasion. At this point ive deleted the script after realising that restarting x2 and doing a cold reset won`t help getting beter frame rates.

Banshee status: -999935 -1 in the Pilot`s info

Rank: Harmless Suspect (according the mission briefing)

Maybe my M6 Sector guard in Elena`s Fortune killed some Banshee ships and at least one banshee station before i realised that there is a new Station in this sector and stopped my M6 Guard from killing banshee ships. But i ve got the first and the scond mission before i realised that my M6 is running wild and killed banshee ships and stations there.

Even before accepting the mission the framerate had been reduced similar like the frame rate i am getting in a mission controlled by a script . e.g. the xenon mission (fly a passenger pursued by Xenons to Station xy) or other missions by EGO. It felt like a "stick in molasses".

Thats why i guess it is a script problem . Since the deletion of your script and returning to a non affected save game all negative effects are gone.

I hope that will help. Because i have deleted all affected savegames. ( i was frustrated and a lil angry)

uhm, something strange just happened

I was public enemy no. 1 of the banshee (must have done something wrong in their home sector :twisted: ).

I got a message that I could up my rank, lowered my shields as requested (bad timing, as I was fighting 3 M6 escorts, cost a few % of my rays hull) and completed the transaction.

It should've cost me 7.8 million credits, but my account went from about 30 million up to 70 million.

I really like the Banshees business concept ... wonder how they can afford all those ships/stations though :D

Just installed 1.04 - you've really put some work into this, I'm impressed.

Problem is that I already inhabit several of the Pirate sectors & all my sector defense craft consider the Banshee to be hostile. I notice I can't set Banshee to Friends (they're not a race in their own right) so I guess they're classed as one of the existing races by the AI, I'm guessing pirates? Do I need to set Pirates as friends to avoid kicking off a battle?

I did just spend the last hour or so having a great battle in Elenas Fortunes & surrounding sectors but sort of defeats the point of this script if I just wipe the banshee out (no matter how much fun it was :-) )

1.04a will be out tonight, i've pulled some scripts that may have caused some lag


The payment dedection will be fixed so it actually deducts the cash instead of paying it.

The banshee are split between pirates and race 4 ships, with pirates the stations work correctly with race 4 they dont.

Dont worry about destroying the banshee it wont happen until you have completed the mission to do this and i have not written it yet :D

To become friends with them you must get to their top rank and the game should do the rest.


More later as well as the prototype console where you just have to type the command you want

Examples currently when the banshee interface is equipped

capture = sit back while your ships captures for you

protect = still under constuction but will bring banshee ships to help you

khaak jump = jump to the khaak sectors

jump home = go back

wingman = makes your target ship a wingman

LV, how many open race slots are there? Apparently the return is going to make use of
at least one of the slots too. What risk is there that your work will conflict with the return stuff. :?:

The mod is very good and everything seems to work fine.

The only disturbing thing is the rank with the Banshee. Is there any way of knowing your rank other than waiting for messages from Banshee traders where they address you using your rank with them?

Even worse, after being Likeable Fool, next time I was Harmless Suspect again, and I did not kill or attack any Banshee. I just killed Khaak and pirates. Does my rank with the Banshee decreases if I attack pirates or Khaak? Which of them? This is important since I want to improve my rank as fast as possible.

Is the final mission already written? The final battle looks very promising. I am already considering several strategies to deal with all those ships in their home sector. :D

The ranks only change with you killing banshee ships or completing the missions offered. ( A little tip - If your within a certain undisclosed distance from a banshee ship thats killed your rank will drop as you did not help that ship!)

I'll update the scripts later to allow a rank check to be inserted.

The final mission is 1/2 done i will hopefully get the first part up in the next few days.

Every time the thread sinks i always think nobody's bothering with it so i ease off the scripting ;)

Is it possible to check if the player is in a mission before starting the negotiator? I really don't want to drop my shield while in a fight with 5 M6 during assassination missions :D

Btw. you should check if the negotiator ship still exists when he sends you the 2nd message :twisted:

This script has the potential to be the best I ever played for X2. So, please finish it!
And the reason is very simple: there is a final goal (I know the story because I have been reading some of your code). Obviously, I do not want to disclose anything here. Some other mods/scripts provide missions and ways to earn money. But what do you do once you've got a powerful fleet? There is no goal. However, after entering the home sector, I know there is a goal in this script (and a very challenging one :D )

Indeed, I am tempted to start killing them before waiting for you to finish the mission. I know it i simpossible to succeed, but it wiould be a lot of fan. Then, I can return to a previous savegame.
