I need some help with this script. It just WILL NOT run consistently.
I am currently slaving away in Rhonkar's Clouds. I have my miner (for whom, for some reason, only the "scan mineral" command will work, and not the auto mine or auto collect command. Same thing happened to me in my last game...) and one collector, a Boron Dolphin. I also have a TL parked nearby.
I blow up a roid, and order the Dolphin to go autocollect, I select Rhonkar's Clouds, and select my TL. It shows the command in its command line, but it just sits there, doing nothing.
The roid fragments are like 500 meters away, and it just SITS THERE...
Ok, so I use Ego's r******* collection script to clear these roids. It takes approximately seven weeks, and both ships fly approximately 889billion miles to collect 14 roid fragments, but there you go. (can you tell I REALLY want something besides Ego's collection "script"?)
I blow up another roid, order the dolphin to autocollect, select sector, select TL, and hey, lo and behold, it's moving! And collecting roids! Joy of all joys!
I fly towards another roid, and blow it up, and just as I'm done blowing it up, I watch the dolphin clear the last of the previous fragments, and it turns, and seems to come my way. I move to another roid to blow it up. When I check with the dolphin, it's sitting on its ass again. Command line still shows Autocollect [SHIP]. It may be doing something, but it's not auto collecting.
Turn the command off, turn it back on. Nothing.
It's sitting almost INSIDE the roid fragments, and I'll be damned if it'll move.
In my previous game, I had the exact same issues. I had three miners, and sometimes they would keep going for a whole sector, and then they would just shut down and not do crap. And then you'd try to reorder them to do it, no go.
Why is it not working? What is it doing that it's just sitting there, with the roids right IN FRONT OF ITS NOSE???
Can someone shed some light on this?
I've gone back and dug up the old automing v2.2 script by Merle, which worked like a charm back in its days (it NEVER stopped working), but it's for version 1.2, unfortunately, and I have no idea what all it would break with 1.4 and all the signed scripts..
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
