Hyperion. Best boarding ship ever.
It was a woman who drove me to drink... you know I never went back and thanked her.

Don't try to outweird me, three-eyes. I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

Two options are too few.

I fly the Asgard, but did not vote for it as I'm typically on the bridge as an Admiral. Will take the helm if precision battery fire is needed.

I voted for the Syn as it is an excellent Destroyer and while not as agile as other Destroyers is reassuringly well armed. Usually allow the captain to handle navigation and combat. Will only take the helm if rapid Wing Commands are needed, and usually I'll use the map for that.

I voted for the Hyperion primarily because it looks awesome and deploys rapidly in groups. They're expensive, with the main batteries, and play best with a fighter escort in fleets so turrets can focus on capitals with Heavy Swarms or Heavy Dumbfire Mk II missiles if range is a priority, but make an excellent rapid-response mini-destroyer. Think of them as a cross between a Heavy Missile Gunboat and Light Destroyer. In numbers they are perfectly capable of stationcracking. It is extremely important to instruct them to target all subcomponents on capital ships and stations, and I wish they could default to that. Homing missiles will also target subcomponents if so ordered, making Heavy Swarms a key survivability tool. Do *not* mix dumbfire and tracking missiles; they can only use one kind of missile at a time. I'll typically man a support station.

I couldn't vote for the Katana, which is fair enough as it's my VIP shuttle. If I'm expecting trouble below a certain grade, I'll fly a Falx wing escorted by Katanas and Jians, with a fighter escort. Otherwise I'll take a few Syns.

The Osaka gets an honourable mention. Top two L turrets L Bolters on prefer capitals; Lower L turret L beamer on prefer fighters; four M top and bottom groups missiles - if range specialisation the Heavy Dumbfire Mk II, if component stripping Heavy Swarms - the remaining M turrets take beams and prefer missiles or fighters.

If the Osaka isn't specced for missiles then the M turrets all take Beams mixing prefer missiles and fighters. I'll use the Osaka, if i have to buy a Destroyer, but I prefer to make my own. :)
I design beautiful, powerful stations that transform your gameplay and look stunning. Now presenting Tachyon Developments - The Terran Collection - now with Community of Planets ship and station technologies!
