Can you promote any bailed pilot? Right click doesn't do anything on my captured passengers. Left click gives 'information' pop-up which shows value and destination, but no option to promote. I've collected about 35 pilots, two with drop-off rewards over 1 million.

Re: Too high rewards for delivering bailed pilots?
I have noticed that some don't have a "trade rank" though I haven't tried promoting them, only one who do. Other than that, I don't know why it wouldn't? There on a TS docked right? Thats what I've always done, not sure what else it could be sorry.Hwitvlf wrote: ↑Sat, 29. May 21, 18:19Can you promote any bailed pilot? Right click doesn't do anything on my captured passengers. Certainly the bailed pilot may or may not have a trade rank that will show up in the menu screenies posted above. As I mentioned earlier (see top post of page 2 in this thread) their rank may have a related reward bonus if dropped off /to their destination/ (usually the nearest station from their ejection point).. or you could keep them around in a spare TP or other ship with CLS for use as ready-trained Mk3 trade pilots later

That is exactly what I'm doing haha much easier than getting them to at least rank 6.Snafu_X3 wrote: ↑Sun, 30. IS there a function to the "military rank" shown in the properties menu?
X fanatic. More of an X3 fanatic.
What about X4? Nah, I prefer a space simulator rather than a walking simulator.

Re: Too high rewards for delivering bailed pilots?
I found it occurred (bailed pilot with trade rank) frequently before I acquired an Ocelet to house them, since then none have trade rank. I do believe I may have had some with trade rank from M3's but miserly values from trade ships (armoured)... These pilots make their own way home.. A bit like an abundance of 25 mj shields when you cannot afford/need them .. RNG it appears does not smile kindly on my endeavours ...
EDIT ...
just obtained a level 16 Trader from a Yaki Raijin...

Re: Too high rewards for delivering bailed pilots?
Weird. I collected about 100 pilots and none with trade ranks until just now; I just got three during two protect factory missions. I wonder if there's a combat/trade rank requirement?
A funny related thing: I got a Xenon trader pilot. It showed up in the cargo of a bailed N and I was able to transfer it to a trading ship. Probably a bug, but I hope they don't fix it as it adds a bit of novelty. I think I'll make him a merchant in an ATF sector...what could go wrong?

That's pretty hilarious. I wonder if the same can be done with the Kha'ak. Make it a merchant in President's End.

How do you put bailed pilots in new ships? Do you eject them and make the required ship pick them up?

Re: Too high rewards for delivering bailed pilots?
You can transfer them just like cargo (assuming lifesupport on both ships). And then on the ship that should use them as pilot you can go to the freight and rightclick the passenger and select "add as pilot".
