The Dxdiag is linked in the first post. Will do a clean install of Windows 10 today. To make sure that nothing else is on it.

I did Windows 10 Clean install and also set up steam and x4 again. Only the most necessary programs installed and version 2. 6 started. The FPS are at 50 but often break down to 17 for 1 second or so.

Can you confirm that your game is definitely unmodified? That means that the savegame you are using cannot have been used with mods installed at any time since it was started, not just that you don't have any mods installed right now.

If so then intermittent changes in performance like that are normally a sign that your CPU is busy doing something else during those periods. That can be anything from anti-virus running to printer monitoring software interfering.

I will have to agree with the devs. I would setup a resource monitor log to run while you are playing the game. This game is a massive CPU beast, but is not really all that good of using more than 4 cores. You need to have as much CPU ready to go on the cores it is using as possible and if you take a look at resource monitor you need to remove or suppress anything that is fighting with your CPU for time. Turn off AV for the game files etc.

Yes, AV's are game killers. Put an exclusion into your AV for the game directories. You can always manual scan.
I don't think the OP mentioned which AA and GFX settings they are using either.

I'm using GTX1070 with R7 2700x and MSAAx4 and it works well enough for me. Approx 50 fps to well over 100 depending on circumstances (1080p).

What is AV? Where do I turn it off?
Yes I have never installed or used mods.
As already written Clean install Windows 10. Have only the graphics card driver and keep the Windows drivers on it no other programs except steam and X4 on a separate newly purchased SSD. Windows is also installed on another SSD.
Virus scanner is the standard of Windows 10 Defender.

Will open the calculator again and see if voltage converters are broken. But hardly believe that this is the case. As written, the CPU is connected to a closed water cooling system. This runs reliably according to temperatures. The clock is clocked at 4.6 ghz by 3.5 ghz standard. Could, however, clock back down to 3.5 GHz and see if things go better with less clock. :gruebel:

AV is is your Anti Virus (you called it your Virus Scanner).

Make sure it is not set to carry out real-time or dynamic checking of X game files (you can exempt the X game folders in your Virus Scanner settings if you have that function operating) as that can be a problem if it causes a delay while checks happen every time a file has to loaded from your drive while gaming.
