Open the ship list tab from the map, find the station in the list, click the "+" to expand the station's modules, click on an individual module you want to destroy and press "T" to target it (whilst still hovering the mouse over it in the list, otherwise it won't be targeted). You can now set your destroyer's turrets to "attack my current enemy" and they should fire at the targeted module, making it much faster to destroy.

This is what I recommended earlier as well but, the build storage should be targetable and destructible as well, or it should despawn after the station is destroyed.

Stations should be planed as ghosts, not visible not attackable at all until the builder arrived. The builder then starts constructing generating the station making the build in progress attackable, also the building vessel is the building storage not some confuse building storage (the builder could just order the stuff it needs for the next X modules at queue). If the not finished station is destroyed it a) get back to ghost state for the faction that ordered it for the next try to build it or b) is canceled at all.

Or like it is now, it stays until a) the builder that was ordered to build it is destroyed b) a max time has passed and the "plot" is removed by the sector manager.

Right since 2.0 xenon started to build defense stations just outside their sectors, but my shots go right through.... and my ships seem to refuise orders to attack them.

am in the same shoe as you :) xenons build a def platform and it is not full build i hope this changes soon having indestructible station is LAMO

They do have hidden HP pools and should explode after shooting them long enough. It just takes a loooooooooong time, and AI can't do it :headbang:

I'm pretty sure it'll be fixed in the next patches. It looks pretty ridiculous to have so many ghost stations ...

I kill these stations in around 5 min if I target the module and set my plasma turrets to attack them, they die as fast as normal stations do. Only the module currently under construction takes longer to destroy.

But as I've warned before, build storages do not despawn if you destroy such stations. The universe will be littered with inactive build storages you cannot remove. Use with caution!

So after 2 hours 12 minutes being shot at, the module under construction finally blew up, and the station is now marked destroyed on that map!

Note though, that in the index, its still marked as an active station.... I wonder what that causes?

Of course the construction depot is now left over....

So test result:

*) 2 hours of continuously blasting at the station module under construction, eventually took it out. The station turned grey on map (but remains red in menu) - however the construction module remained.
*) 2 1/4 game hours of continuously blasting the construction module with my hyper-tuned M2... there's no result. I hence assume its not destructible :(

So I'm now stuck with a semi-destroyed station :(


==> Conclusion: DO NOT attack stations under construction.
Better hope for them to eventually get finished... so assuming you have sufficient firepower, you then have a chance to blow them up which may(*pending further testing) wipe them eventually.

Well, I did give prior warning about this, more than once actually.

Hopefully all those leftover build storages will be removed once we get a fix.

you sure did - still went the complete test ;)



FYI - The problem fixed itself about 15 minutes later though: The xenon station respawned to active, with the very same module back into construction.

Conclusion:
- It takes 2 hours of gameplay effort to turn a not-yet-existant under construction module into a broken NPC station remains.
- it then takes 5 minutes for the NPC to reactivate the station and build a new under-construction set.

==> There is absolutely no way to stop the xenon spamming defense station constructions all over the place (I've counted 4 so far that are built along my center circle highway) :(
@egosoft - please consider adding a fix to that. Its not adding fun to the game as is.

I have this problem as well, too many stations under construction which can't be finished. I have too good of a defence hence the construction can't finish.
Egosoft, pretty please this is a major killer especially as some of the constructions are way too close to friendly stations and kicks off the combat music as long as you're on the nearby stations.
I love the regular music, I just hate the indestructible constructions & combat music when there's no accountable threat. :)

Fingers crossed, I hope for some improvement in the next patch.

I have the same issue with two Xenon defense platforms in Hatickva's Choise I cannot seem to be able to erase from map.
I shot at the storage module, making it drop all the cargo (mostly energy cells and ore: do xenons build their modules with unrefined ore?), but then nothing.

On the other hand, I think I'm selling wares to those storages, helping to rebuild... It's funny, but WTH??? :lol:

Is it so difficult? I don't want that the Xenon build a defence station when I clearly can destroy it before even build....

How to destroy a station module that's under construction. In your object list expand the modules of the station, select the ??? entries one at a time and tell your turrets to shoot your current enemy. You can then turn on seta and let the plasma turrets do their thing.

Yes, but is there any point spending ages doing this when the station will reactivate and start reconstructing after a few minutes?
