Well I haven't played for since launch, and I read the same thing. So I was very disappointed I must say. Especially because the 50 FPS isn't smooth 50, there's almost always jerky movement. Which totally kills it for me. FWIW my rig can play Battlefield 4 with Ultra settings at 100-130 FPS.

I'm not so hopeful. The fact that performance is still horrible after a year, especially since they've explicitly stated they've worked on this, means there are no low-hanging fruits.

Though the jerky movement should be solvable and would help a lot I think.

I have updated my machine:

AMD FX 6300 6 cores @ 3.50 Mhz
R9 280 Dual-X 3GB DDR5
12 GB DDR3 1333
Windows 8.1 64 bit

The game now runs fine with every single setting cranked up to the max. However, I still get freezes when approaching stations, which points to my hypothesis of disk access being the culprit.
