How To Load Novadrones on to A Balor

The Balor has the potential to be extremely powerful, but the AI simply doesn't use it effectively. I've watched one PMC Light Sul with 5 escorts take a pair of them out with almost no damage. Balor kept shooting missiles at the fighters and drones, only hit the Sul when it was in the way.

Yeah pretty much, they should give ships different ai's depending on role, arawn should get close and brawl and balor should use it's superior speed to kite from range and use novadrones on capships, it's main lasers should only be used for fighter/missile defense.

Agreed.
Succuless too, should be setup to work as a sniper.

I've only used taranis lately, but they never needed missiles when shooting at me. :lol:

No... Egosoft apparently is too stupid to implement AI like that... What they need to do is drop this stupid shit of using only the crappy Skunk and allow us to pilot capital ships so they will properly function as expected. I have no faith in Egosoft ever bringing out a reliable AI capable of such sophisticated AI scripting.

They should get rid of that AI, and let the player define wings/fleets, and command them in a meaningful way. Then you could easily use the ships to their full potential.
AI will never be able to guess that in any random situation that can occur during gameplay, which behaviour for which ship will serve the player best.
Even if ES spent the rest of their lifetime on developing such an AI you mention, i'm not sure if they could succeed. As that would mean they have to predict what the player wants to do at any given time.

So you want to pilot manualy every ship in your fleet at the same time?I am not saying it should predict the player, I am saying it should have options and be reliable.Common sense stuff like, aim novadrones at capital ships first, not fighters, and use range to advantage. Stuff like that won't take a lifetime and would improve the game a lot.

Not for nothing, modders have already made scripts to do that. I.E. Balor stands off and fires corps, Sucellus keeps main cannon aligned, etc.

Ego should just toss them some beer money to include that in the game.
