You may have noticed the greyed-out Cycle Views option in the menu. Currently, I'm working on alternative views that might make sense for improved combat etc. The idea is you can cycle through 4 or 5 different viewing perspectives.BugMeister wrote:any chance of cam controls and a zoom feature??
Hopefully, I'll have an update today or tomorrow. Because of the code changes, this will require a restart of the mod (not the game). Basically, it'll mean deactivating and re-activating the extension (easy enough to do in the Extensions Menu).

Update: Version 1.30 now available. Changes:

NOTE: If you are updating this mod from a previous version (Steam does this automatically), you MUST reset the mod IF you are loading from a save-game. Use the following procedure:
- Turn the mod off (Extensions menu). Exit the game
- Load a save-game and then save it again. Exit the game
- Turn the mod on (Extensions menu). Exit the game
- Load the game you just saved.
Now the mod is reset and the new features will be available to you.

Next and possibly final addition to this mod will be a "Missile Alarm". The idea here, is to signal an alarm whenever an enemy missile is fired at you. The offending missile will appear in your monitor so you can see what it is doing in relation to your ship. This alarm can be turned on/off as desired.

@oldviper585: The only reason I can think of why the mod would stop working is if some other mod is conflicting. You might try starting a new game just to verify if the mod works in that case. If it doesn't, you might see if disabling other mods makes a difference. I'll be interested to hear what you find out.

Things i have tried; unsubscribed in steam workshop, started new game, exited game, resubscribed restarted game, no change. Disabled some modes, started new game no change. The file "osr_targetext" and osr_universe both exist in the extensions folder.
Love this mod, hope we can find the problem.

Still having problems with this mod. Strange behavior; the mod is listed in the extensions in game and is on. If i look in the local files in steam or by windows the mod is not listed!? Have deleted local files using steam, redownloaded game, started new game with all mods off except Lost colony, NESA, and external camera. No joy, any suggestions?

I've just found and installed this mod, and its working great in a 5 min. quick test.
2 hours ago I was looking at external views of a B777 displayed on the navigation display
inside the cockpit of a B777:

And thinking we got ext cams it 2014, but not in the this future space game with hyper jump tech.

Externall camera is now built into X rebirth, at a guess I would say that installing this will break things..
