X3:Reunion was a mess at release. You were constantly scared of docking at a station for fear it would crash to desktop or corrupt your save game or both.

X3:Terran Conflict was a complete overhaul of X3:Reunion. I think it was mostly just an adaptation of the X-tended mod which I sunk more time into than I did in the vanilla version itself.

I am sure they would be happy to... IF they could actually play the game.

X3 was quite playable on release, some performance issues but nothing as major as trading (a key aspect of an X-game) being pretty much broken.

ALL X gamers (new comers and veterans alike) should feel free to post bug reports but as a fellow X-gamer I would actually like to see people actually search for existing bug reports first.

While the idea of compensation is fine in itself, Egosoft would firstly need to confirm that there's a problem with the game.

Sadly, until now, Bernd refused to reply at all to the hillarious release except that he apologized for the bugs and promised to fix them as fast as they can, while calling the game to be a "success" which clearly must aim at the number of sold copies.

No word about the lies that have been sold to use while at the same time having refused to allow anyone to review the game before release. The result, we all know and most of us experienced it or are even experiencing it still. Sadly, the above mentioned "success" bases on exactly these lies, while trying to ashame the playerbase with silly comments like "I told you beforehand that this isn't X4". True... but it still is ment to be an X game - which it due to lack of content clearly isn't - see my signature for a quote on his advertising.

Asking for sort of a compensation is appropriate and often gets done in business if something went severely wrong. But obviously, as long as Bernd refuses to acknowledge there to be any problem at all, I feel that asking for such is to no avail and one needs to take own measures to not get ripped off by this fraud.

The only way I can think of is to arrange a refund with your retailer - which many players already did - and then wait 1-2 years for the game to become what was sold to us, be it by the works of Egosoft or that of modders again (who are not part of the promise though). Once the game is in shape, you can always buy it again - most likely cheaper even.

This currently is the only way to get anywhere with Egosoft if you feel cheated. Here's the How-To thread for refunding:

Sorry to say, but as long as Bernd hides in some hole to not even acknowledge that he delivered far less than promised - and in fact even claimed all is fine except a few bugs - this is the only option you have.

Sad days... even the once most trusted game developers went the ****** road that many went before.

So Egosoft would have to first confirm there are problems with the game, except for that time they confirmed and apologised for problems with the game?
