I have 8 gigs of RAM and i5 processor. You won't benefit i7 as a game engine only utilizes a maximum of four cores as stated by one of the developers. SSDs seem to help loading from a saved game but in game there is zero difference between transitions.

I thought in one of the videos they pointed out it would use upto 32 cores if it could, due to what they call drop threads?

I upgraded from an i3 2120 (dual) to an i5 2500k (quad). The patches may have helped a little too but the game went from borderline unplayable to playable with a bit of slowdown. If the i3's performance is anything to go by, people with a Core 2 duo must really struggle to play.
