This is true, but I think this will change. As for remote trading, you can always add a ship to your squad from anywhere. You fill up the trading menu with trade offers when scanning trade docks. These offers remain in your menu for a good amount of time. Several hours. You can then order any ship following you (in your squad) to trade with any dock you have previously scanned. This can be done from anywhere, at anytime.Werewindlefr wrote:Don't get too excited. There's a very limited version of remote trading that only works for ships in your squad - ships that are following you.
In terms of commanding fleets of starship, Rebirth is very, very limited when compared to the awesome possibilites of AP.

"Several hours" ? That is, after these hours we have to do the Stations' Scan grind all over again and direct ships manually all over again ?BlackRain wrote:These offers remain in your menu for a good amount of time. Jeeez, whoever thought of this crap as "Trade" in a X game needs a sanity check.

Several in game hours is quite a long time. Trade deals are going to change. Once you get stations, stations automate the trade process (at least for the good produced on station). I guess the idea is you are looking for "deals" and "contracts". These are always changing so they can't remain the same. I think that the items might remain in your trade menu but they wont be updated. I can't remember. Also trading software helps, only need to enter a zone I think to get the trade offers.

Yes I understand that. The trading software is certainly a big help but gets you no discount offers and you've to check all station's points to get them. So station scan grind all over again.BlackRain wrote:Several in game hours is quite a long time. Trade deals are going to change. Oooooooh shit... I was playing the game since release, clocked a bit over 12 hours, was quite enjoying it, I figured all the advanced command options will become unlocked later on, but what you're saying is really discouraging... You really mean I won't be able to have like a fleet of M1's and M2's protected by wings of M3 fighters that dock automatically before jumping? And the smaller fleet of TS's automatically supporting said fleet with missiles when they run low? Seriously?
I could forgive all the bugs, but such design decisions? Why? WHYYYYY?!
And to think I waited a year for this game... I took a week off work to enjoy it... I'm a sad bear now.

Then please explain how to make a ship I own to attack a target infront of me or to make it go somewhere to fill it with drones or to make it go to a station. Maybe I need to employ more workers in it ? I really want to know, I searched alot and also searched in your post.BlackRain wrote:The take me to COMMAND DOES WORK, you are doing it wrong. I explained this in another thread and if you really wanted help you would have asked in the "get help" thread I put up. You are doing it wrong, that is why it doesn't work, which is understandable though because it is easy to do it wrong.Playbahnosh wrote:I went back and checked again. I'll be damned, there are really no commands to control your other ships! WHAT THE HELL?! The "Take me to..." command only plots a course for the Skank, my trader refuses to move an inch. Aaaand there is no other command whatsoever.
Question: how do I suppose to repair them or upgrade them when I can't send them dock? How do I suppose to make them escape enemy fire? How do I suppose to send them to meet another ship or exchange freight? How do I make it do ANYTHING ELSE THAN FLOAT IN SPACE?!
This game a f#&đing disgrace not only to the X series, but all space sims.

You can't. That functionality isn't in the game at the moment. One time, I got a carrier to launch drones at a station, but it did it on it's own accord, and I couldn't get the situation to happen again. I was attacking a neutral station, it turned red of course, station shot at me, 30 minutes later or so, one of my carriers which had been sitting away from the station made a beeline for it, launched drones, attacked briefly, then went back to sitting around doing nothing. The only commands you can give it is join your squad (which makes it follow you), or "take me to..." which, after you dock onto it, will boost/jump to the destination. If you are really fortunate, all of your other ships following you will complete the jump. Often times, they run out of fuel and then magically disappear and get killed with no notification this having happened.ilikefood wrote:Then please explain how to make a ship I own to attack a target infront of me or to make it go somewhere to fill it with drones or to make it go to a station. So for combat missions I'm on my own ? I can never depend on help from my ships other than trade transports ? Thats very disapointingBlack_Sails wrote:You can't.
