It's acquired 4 drones on it's own and is using JD (I manually seed e-cells due to current sector placement) No jumping efficiency yet though.. IE: destination a few clicks from discovered N gate but jumped to S gate and flying north.
I'm not sure what you're asking here. A vanilla Mk3 trader won't use a jumpdrive for trades (although they /may/ use them for emergency escapes - not sure) in TC before L12 pilot rank. I don't /think/ this has changed for AP, although I may be wrong - there were certainly some tweaks to the script
I wasn't really asking anything in what you'd quoted. Just a summary of the present climate in my AP game.

I completely misunderstand you or this is simply inaccurate. Of course vanilla Mk3 will use jumpdrives. If you mean they won't buy-sell them, well yes. Of course, software and ware/software hybrids like the JD they will not buy in order to sell. I may have stated some specifics somewhere in the thread or the initial thread in tech suppt., but in TC IIRC there was occassional JD use before I was able to start the Mk3 as a UT.

Depending upon routing calculations they /might/ fly through intervening sectors (whether you've discovered the relevant gates or not), but no gate locations or stations will show up on the sector map
IIRC, these sort of self (Mk3) discovery is true for TC and AP but not X3R. Perhaps mistaken with X3R though since in hindsight I don't think that I thought of mentioning this 'feature' but just used to my advantage in playing.
In my TC game I've used the Mk3 in LT mode and other remote ships via autopilot to help nail down some of the hard to find gates.

..and of course the mission guidance. That was kind of a shock since it really cuts exploration time down a lot for a 'manual mapper' like me.
