I actually get short freezes some 7 seconds long. The freezes started when I entered Heretic's End. Now I have the Galactica's mod By Killerog & JCC installed. and I'm running X3-AP.
Since then, it doesn't matter which sector I enter, I now get those short freezes every time.

Another one bites the dust!!

Similar problem performed similar actions and also thought it was save game related at first because after deleting most of the and starting again it would give me more playing time before freezing. OS is the same however processor is AMD phenom II 6 COre.
Ran prime95 no issues found. Had deleted and reinstalled , verified game files ... also numerous times. What exactly was your fix?
The Game Booster? IS this something that anyone with any hardware can download?

Sorry I missed the added input. Yes, I did download Game Booster. As far as I know, it (Game Booster) or the patch (through Steam to 2.1 for X3:AP) may have fixed my problem, for now. I cannot confirm that it was a true fix. Although, I will say that I have not had the issue since. I will also say that due to the current/recent Steam Summer Sale, I have not played much X3:AP. Add in the fact that I am trying to get an online/work-from-home job and I am about to move in less than 30 hours, and you will see I don't exactly have a ton of time to play currently.
I will not say that my problem is fixed definitively, but it has not come up again. I was hesitant to believe that Game Booster would actually work, because I believed my system specs were more than enough. However, I can't argue with the results.
You can simply add programs to a list (in Game Booster) and it will activate "Gaming Mode". [It seems to catch most games as soon as you install it via an initial scan.] When you finish playing-the-game/running-the-application, it goes back to normal mode. Very nice. Would and do recommend. It may not be your fix, but it is beneficial nonetheless.
