Whichever amuses you the most.

I believe (and correct me if i'm wrong) that neither TC or AP have steam cloud support. Only DiD mode is using the cloud, and only the cloud, and it produces problems more often, than not.
You are correct. TC/AP saves games locally not in the cloud.

okay guys, lets get down to yhe core of the plan.... I am going to install XTC3, AP and steam. I know i must install steam on both home computer and my travel laptop and use my registared account only with one running at a single time. Now, i install my 16gig USB stick into my home computer, what should follow? Installation of XTC3 and AP using steam then how do i do it on the laptop? Will it be confused about the game registry code as i install it a second time on the other computer? ( yes, i know to copy he save game files back and forth.)
1. Install Steam on your home computer and then install TC/AP.
2. When it's done locate your X3TC folder, default path is "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict" and copy the entire contents to your USB stick.
3. Install Steam on your laptop and follow the process for registering that laptop with your account.
4. Copy the X3TC folder from your USB stick to the corresponding location on your laptop.
5. Run a game file verification on the laptop to check everything is fine.
