Could not connect to smtp host : 111 : Connection refused

Just to confirm "officially" that the problem is a mail server issue, and that it occurs when someone (anyone) has requested email confirmation of a posting, whether it be PM notification or a watched thread. Sadly I'm not in a position to do anything about the mail server, so we'll all just have to wait for someone who is.

In Profile I have "NO" check for mail noteification , But still recieve notification .

I'll even get notification about threads I'v just opened and read . With or without posting on .

Have not tic-ed "Follow thread" thingy ,

Just reporting symptoms .
As I'm reporting > In profile all repoting back to me is turnned off .
Very realy do I "Watch a thread" . No need ,I come here enough not to miss the Non-Official / Official posting on the Off topic section of the Forum about the NBT .


This is a problem caused by the spam bots loading a "who has clicked This" counter . Probably colecting profile information of those who have clicked on a Spam thread , automaticlly / maybe that far .
Just my theory ..

Update: the mail server seems to be back, and the errors seem to be gone.
