some nice work there dave but when u get to combat tutorial remember remote piloting not many realize u can still do this in TC.

Friend of of mine has just started out in TC will defo recommend he watches your vids.
Save me teaching him :lol:

Thanks, I appreciate it. I understand that TC has been out for quite a while so new players aren't in the same numbers as old players. Either way, if it only helps out a couple of new players it's cool. I'm having fun.

np at all, hopefully a few more people will see your videos and find them useful. I havnt seen them all (just 2) but I do plan to watch them all. However on the first video I could see you done a good job. So that's why I wanted to post some news on them. Keep up the good work!

If you want me to post any more news, or would like to yourself just let me know. I know that posts here can disappear fairly quickly.

I watched a few more videos, and think you have done a great job. How far are you going to go with them?

my only criticism is that the video's seem to be in 4:3 and not wide-screen. 720p looks weird in 4:3 :)

Grim just pointed me in the right direction for a better way to compress video, so I'm about to remake all of the videos @ 720 but I'll be able to make them 4 or 5 times the length. I'll look into the ratio of the new compression format and try to make it as natural as possible.

The original plan for the walkthrough videos was to take a new player who knows nothing about the game from beginning a new game to having a fully functioning economy/income (UT's, Stations) and enough combat skills to be able to run missions and defend assets at a basic level, to include capping etc.

well if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

I could make some pages on my x3t site with the videos embedded. Then a '<< Previous | Next >>'. This would make it easier for people to find the next video (without having to look for it). I often find youtube difficult to get the 'next' video. It often suggests random videos :) .. Its just an idea. I wont do anything without your say so.

Oh, and on youtube you could create a playlist and place them in there. That would help keep them together.

I think your videos are a great idea.

Ok, new video us up listed as "Trial Video." Please check it out and let me know if it works. The new format gives me 10x the compression, so if this is good, I'll be able to finish these much faster and provide much longer videos.

It looks great! When viewed at 720p everything is perfectly legible.

Its definitely better, its a bonus if makes it easier to upload too. I recommend for 720p youvideo around 8000kbps. What compression are you around?
