well one of the Egosoft people left a message on the DevNet forums to say that they have found the problem and are looking into it. given how quickly they patched us up from 2.6 to 2.7, this could be pretty quick. here's hoping

I had the same problem. I *fixed* it by loading an earlier save, and re-doing a couple of missions. So far the plot hasn't stalled again.

I am however careful not to manually save while docked at teh Military Base. This seems to have broken the plot in the first place.

EDIT: Saving or not does not seem to make a difference. It is however possible to advance the plot, if you have a save game before the OFF missions hangs/breaks.

All you have to do is reload the save and again dock at the Military Base when you are told to. The only mission that seems to be broken is the one sending you into Kha'ak Sector 841. ('Our Military Outpost is under attack. Reinforcements are on the way...').
Should you get this mission, simply reload and try again until you get a different message/mission (i.e. into Kha'ak Sector 926 or Nathan's Voyage). These seem to function properly, and will give you the normal advancement in rank/exp.

Did you mean use a save from prior recieving a call to return to base?
Ive got a save from just before i land there and im stuck getting the same broken defend the outpost mission each time now.

Hope this is an easy fix.

AFAIK, any save before you actually dock at the Military Base and thus 'accept' the mission (which might be the broken one) should do. This includes saves that already give you the call to return to base.

I have however some troubles myself getting a diffrent mission atm. My mission rank Lieutenant 89%, so I am not quite sure whether that particular mission into Kha'ak Sector 841 must be accomplished at some point before the plot advances beyond the random repeat missions.

Let's hope this is fixed soon.[/i]
