I have an Radeon 8500 pro and it works fine. I upgraded to a Radeon 9700 pro and after two software upgrades I have returned it to the suppliers in Tottenham Court Road - London. It s an incompatibility problem with X-Tension. Only in X-Tension do I have a problem, the grid fails to stay stable. It works fine otherwsie. I do not recommend the Radeon 9700 pro because of the Hardware/Software fault with X-Tension.

Buy a G-Force 4XX or a G-Force 5XX next month!

If it is about XTension you are asking, visual probably no difference. Your faster CPU will be able to handle more ships, fights or whatever faster and better.

If it is X2 you are asking, yes, your new video card and CPU WILL make a hell lot of difference visual and speed wise. Having a GeForce2 MX in one PC and a GeForce4 Ti4600 in the other, I can see dramatic visual differences when I look at a X2 Beta.

This is not to say the GeForce 2 will not be able to work with X2-The Threat, on the contrary, I have no problems seeing the X2 Beta with it. It is only the new features incorporated in the new video cards like shading at al one will be missing out on seeing.
