Ok, I've listened to the Dramatic Music 1 & 2 so see where you're coming from.

At the moment the 'big orchestra' sound isn't what I'm trying to achieve although at some point I can see how it might be commercially useful. It's something that I will take a look at but not until I've finished my X adventures!

I think at this point I should disabuse you regarding the notion of my youthfullness! Compared to a Giant Tortoise I'm young, compared to a Giant Redwood I'm positively juvenile. Compared to yourself however I suspect I'm almost worm food.

Someone on the X forums has a sig that states (something like); Growing old is obligatory, growing up isn't. That's me that is!

I have reasons for doing what I'm doing, which I'm not going to divulge on an open forum, apart from, obviously, the sheer enjoyment of doing it. Much as yourself I expect from that point of view.

My music making forays have so far cost nothing but time, effort and learning. I'm happiest surrounded by chord sheets trying to figure out how to go from G#m7 to D#sus4 without it sounding like a cat has walked across the keyboard. Sometimes it works!

I've got a high regard for your videos as I recognise the creative effort that went into them and the same goes to the people that post stories, artwork etc. It's good that people use their imaginations to keep the X-universe ticking over. Long may it continue!

Only one new track added this time, titled 'Raijin Raider'. It's a bit of an experimental piece although I wouldn't expect anyone to notice as it's more of a technical exercise on my part. And yes the drums are mixed down on purpose!

More info on the blog.

As it's Christmas Eve I though I'd play Santa!

Three new tracks for your listening pleasure... ahem.

'Moo Kye's Revenge', 'Saturn' and 'Cho's Defeat.

Hope you like them (to MV: 'Saturn' is another 'empty' track so no bass line, sorry!)

Merry Christmas to one and all!

Volume II is almost complete with three new tracks for your edification.

They are, 'Unknown Sector II', 'Spaceweed Drift' and 'Ocracoke's Storm'. Please note that the last two are louder than I would've liked so be careful if wearing headphones/ear pieces!

I'm presently working on the last track which I hope to upload before midnight as a final goodbye to 2009 and which will complete 'Pieces of X Vol II'. This is provisional on just how much Captain Morgan and I get together!

'Til later.

Well we managed it! Not quite 2009 but you can blame the Captain for that. Rum and mixing doesn't mix, so to speak.

Last Piece of X Vol II is 'Thyn's Abyss'. Realtime oscillator twisting with a floating synth line providing the melody. It's both tortured and dreamy which is how it was planned.... probably!

I hope you've enjoyed at least some of the journey.

More to come in 2010 after a short break to recharge the inspiration.

Merry New Year to one and all!

Thanks for the praise MV!

Since finishing Vol II I've been auditioning various DAWs; Sonar, Acid Pro, Reaper etc, etc. Can't get on with any of them unfortunately. I've also been using various free VSTs (about 30 of them) to see what they offer. It has been interesting but not conclusive.

I may (don't hold your breath) have something specifically for you in the next few weeks, depending on a chain of events over which I have little control. I'll let you know how it pans out.

I'll get in touch off-forum as it were.
